Paul gives pragmatic instructions on becoming who Christ wants me to be. In 2 Cor 13:5, he tells me to examine myself, and in 10:5, he says to remove proud obstacles from my life that keep me from knowing God, such as rebellious thoughts. Materialism, pride, a hunger for recognition, doubt in the face of tragedy-God wants me in obedience to give these obstacles to Him and thank Him for my weakness that I may grow stronger in Him, not myself.

There was so much that Apostle Paul had to say. What stood out in today's reading was ‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‭-‬6 in the‬ ‭ESV‬ translation. "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete." This is a reminder that we are in a spiritual war. Evil is happening all around, and we must be prepared for the schemes of the enemy. Lord, help us stay equipped. Yes and Amen. The Lord is faithful. He keeps us, even in our weaknesses. Praise His holy name!

12:9 was one of the scriptures i looked deeper into through commentary, then i realized the numbers (they are significant to me 12/9 is my birthday. I absolutely love when God speaks to me! 💙

2 Cor 10:4, "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world...they have divine power to demolish strongholds." I pray for strongholds to be demolished in the lives of my family members. 🙏🏽 2 Cor 10:5 is a verse I often use to challenge incorrect thinking in myself and my clients- taking every thought captive. Are the thoughts in line with what God's word says?

Such a standard Paul projects. Other church leaders belittle him and he says look at how I live. Look at who I serve! In his service who gets the glory? I see Jesus and His gospel in action. I see signs and wonders underscore His ministry. I see a man who points to Jesus and the good news of His appearing!

It was the whole city of Corinth that was debauched. I remember something that was said when I was doing BSF, that "a girl from Corinth" was a euphemism for a sex worker

I’m confused, everything I’ve found on verse 11:5 is that the super apostles were a reference to Peter, James and John, as described in Galatians 2:9 as the Pillars of the Church of Jerusalem. Anyone else find this?

You don't need to be confused. In Galatians, James, Cephas, and John are referred to as being pillars, NOT super apostles. Paul is speaking of imposters who are doing damage to the church. James, Peter (Cephas) and John helped to pen scripture.
