I am so proud of how you handled such a difficult text for our society. I had a friend in a bible study years ago who hated Paul because she was a feminist. But we did an entire 9 month study the next year on him and she totally changed her mind and learned to love his teachings. She let go of her preconceived ideas about him. Conversations are good. Arguing for a specific viewpoint is toxic. Thank you for your amazing work on behalf of us.

I think this year the biggest growth has been coming back to my faith. Learning more than I have ever known about jesus which I thank you personally for kanoy. I lost my sister to covid 2 years ago she was my world my bestfriend and the pain was unbearable i shut myself in my home and ignored the world. She had written personal letters to all of us years before to be read in the event of her death. And in mine she said not to be angry with god for calling her home and I should hold fast to faith and jesus so I know she had faith and where she is now and I have peace knowing I will see her in heaven and rejoyce.

I admire how much knowledge you have about the word of God and wish that I was only able to have a fraction of the knowledge you have. I enjoy listening to your messages and studies every day and wanted to thank you and tell you how much i appreciate you and all your hard work! May God bless you and your family day in and day out!

This past year has been life changing for me. God called me to move away from my family and my hometown in April of last year. I have grown closer to God since I moved and also got baptized this past February because of my new relationship with God. I am thankful for the friendships and new church home I became a part of when I moved. If I didn't listen to God when He told me to move I don't know where I would be in life right now. I was very immature and irresponsible almost 2 years ago, to this day and all the days to come I am thankful God called me out of the life I was living and brought me into my reborn life with Him!❤

Linda here....just a simplified comment on Ch 2.....we are essentially spiritually equal but have functionally different roles. We are reminded in Gal 3:28 - there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male or female, for you are all one in Jesus Christ.

The one way I believe I have changed in a fairly significant way, is that I am more careful with what comes out of my mouth. I would talk and answer in anger and haste when I was hurt or felt someone was saying or doing something wrong in my opinion. I have now curbed the need to do out. I have taken out most of my swear words (that’s a hard one) I am trying to speak in a calm and gentle and firm manner. I am also taking time to answer/reply asking for guidance in what I should say. It’s a game changer.

Was not confused Ch 2, verses 9-12. How God has changed me. Finally speaking up for myself. Not allowing one person in my life to walk over me no longer. By speaking out I have been called bad words and names. I answered back calmly, why does the truth hurt you? I love (Proverbs 15:16,17). Letting go of fear. Love (Isaiah 41:10). And now I have a better understanding for other people's feelings, more passionate. Love (Proverbs 3:17).

Hi Kanoe. Thank you for your videos. I’ve been waiting the study videos all year. I’ve seen most of them and I appreciate you explaining and breaking down the Bible. I look forward to you repeating the process next year. I hope you do the process again with another version bible to see how it translates. This year I purchased the Women’s study bible and as funny as it sounds have no idea how to begin studying. I would love to see you do these videos with this bible or another version like I suggested. God Bless you and your family. Happy holidays. And thank you again for helping so many like myself.

In church, I never feel that the pastor is over me in anyway. He/she is serving the congregation and can be fired by the congregation, except in a few denominations. I feel that was their custom at that time.

Mary Magdalene was ORDERED by Jesus to preach of His resurrection to men. The resurrection of Jesus is a key part of the gospel. But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. -excerpt 1 Corinthians 15 When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, and yet she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Thinking that He was the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you put Him, and I will take Him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!”. Jesus said to her, “Stop clinging to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene came and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord,” and that He had said these things to her. -excerpt John 20

1) 1:3 "...charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrines..." 2) 2:14 "...the woman was deceived..." Maybe women's religious zeal for God and Jesus became a problem? They listen to these "certain persons" and passed on heresy to their husbands... To diminish their zeal Paul wrote 2:15 - You are OK without preaching or teaching. 2:15 Yet she will be saved through childbearing-if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control.

@@heartdiveThank you very much for your Bible study!!!!! God bless you! I believe that It is a rule for those churches because of a reason not because of a "creation order". in 2:13-14 Adam was formed first - reason. Adam was not deceived - result. As for me the word "First" does not mean "lieproof", it means "first" and "older". So: First = not deceived. Men usually were teaching men in that time. The same happened in this Church also I think. Eve was not "first" and thus not ready. The women in that Church ware not ready either. (2:11 Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness.) Of course we can assume that they were not educated also. I believe that Paul had another good reason for laying down these rules: they were in general not serious and chatty but zealous and had influence on their husbands. (It sounds like a calamity already.) (He 2 times in a row says that women must be silent 2:11-12 !!! 3:11 "The women likewise must be serious, no slanderers, but temperate. faithful in all things.") What's wrong with those women? XD Paul had a problem with women's talkativeness and "self-discipline" not only here. 1 Corinthians 14:34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. They most likely spoke when it was inappropriate and maybe even not concerning the Gospel. And 14:35 sounds like a sarcasm in this context. Why to stop someone if this person does not moving? So he says - they are alright and saved without teaching others. They were not ready (not first) and not serious ("young") but quite zealous. To prevent dissemination of heresies Paul charged 2:12. Something like that. So, those rules are necessary measures for that time. As far as I know Churches can set rules, change them and abolish them. But ... yeah, I am for the first time reading the Bible... so It is just my humble opinion that I hold at this moment.

Yes, be cautious, the web is full of rabbit holes that you can fall into. Your past mistakes can be a great testimony. I'm not 100 percent sure about the women leading stance, but I think I'm leaning towards women teaching, but not leading men because God made man the spiritual leader of the home so it would make sense that they are leaders of the church.

Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really. I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting.

Kanoe, hi, I believe you said Deborah was a teacher in authority over a man. That seems to be out of context. She was a judge and a prohetess, and yes a commander and chief in an army, but she fuctioned as a messenger of God. He used her for that purpose. He gave her the plan to win the war. She conveyed that to Barak. Please enlightened me if i took your statement out of context. Was your point that women can teach? I want to add your teaching makes the scriptures come alive. I be anticipating watching each one.

Before you read this I want to say I come out of love. Catholics, orthodox and most Protestants churches do not allow women to be in clergy. There are examples where woman were in elevated roles but not clergy. There are also times where slavery and wars were described. These are description of times not prescriptions. Paul never encouraged women to lead ministry. He clearly denounces it. I do not understand how people can cherry pick things from the Bible that contradict the disciplines/epistles of Paul. in addition, Majority of major sects of Christianity universally agree with this discipline. Progressive Christianity is poisoning our churches and teachings. Everyone’s own interpretation opens up can of worms. For example, progressive churches that claim they have the Holy Spirit but justify their sins. Mind you I love women and honor them. However, We all have roles and duties defined by God. God bless.

It’s interesting how we try to redefine these verses… nothing is in a gray area.. man must be the husband of 1 wife… that’s what it says…. God didn’t stutter on this, He’s not a God of confusion.
@Morales705
@Morales705 11 ай бұрын
But let’s take the scripture for what it says then we won’t have debates over it… if we believe the Word of God is right. When we start to insert our opinions that’s when we veer off from what the Bible is saying. We can redefine scripture to fit what we want. If Women cannot teach it’s not a big deal. The scripture is saying what it’s saying Women cannot take authority over men. You are teaching on this platform but you are not taking authority over a man so it’s okay.
