In this live I’m on my own without Garry, and I talk about:
- Prascend (pergolide) - a story of how the drug went from a Parkinson’s drug to an equine drug to treat PPID
- we talk about how horses become IR - how the cells start ignoring poor old insulin
- horses get their safe energy from volatile fatty acids (VFAs)
- difference between non structural and structural carbohydrates
… then we show some pictures of a previously shod hoof with a chopped off toe (exposed epidermal laminae) and what this means for this horse in rehab right now!
