That blunder in the beginning was hilarious because of how relatable it was. "The queen is attacking the bishop"... proceeds to completely forget about that 10 seconds later. Yup, we've all been there.

I think it stems from Patrick's inexplicable desire to castle queenside as much as possible. Also he wants to avoid 'pins' at all costs, that's why he rarely plays Nf3, even though it's usually a top move in a normal opening situation.

I don’t think black was cheating. Bringing the queen out early wasn’t a particularly smart move except it can rattle the opponent and bring about an unforced error as we saw.

At 2:05: Repeat after me: "If I play Qe2, what is my opponent's best response?" Two-ply calculation! C'mon, man; you can do this! Next game, please pay attention to those pesky even-numbered ply moves! I'm betting that you'll shake this off and come back stronger tomorrow. 👍

Patrick, I haven’t even watched the whole video but chess is a mind set but you losing a Bishop so early and responding like you just lost your queen and already verbally conceding the game is not good. There are plenty of ways to still win being down Bishop but with a defeatist mentality it sure makes chess a lot more difficult to play let alone win.

Don't trust the game review feature. Its labels on moves are misleading, as is its assessment of accuracy and skill level. A pack of lies, if I may be so bold. White was dinged for just one blunder despite hanging multiple pieces. What happens is that the position is so far gone that ANY move is considered OK because it can't make the position worse. (Move 21 the review calls Qe3, which hangs a clean rook and loses a tempo, "good" while Qg2, losing only an Exchange is "best." Preposterous.)

We’ve all played down a minor piece or even a queen at some point in our games… A win is totally doable you just have to put your pieces on good squares and make it a positional strategic game this opponent just bullied you around the entire time. I suck your little office on your end and the opponent with every move defended and attacked at the same time it was a good game on their end. I mean you just got out played that happens we don’t win every time

Studies of chess players have been conducted showing that blunder rates for players who started playing later in life are much higher than for those who started playing early in life. So, you are living proof that those studies are accurate. You have yet to convince your subconscious mind that chess is important. How to do this. Simply don't eat if you lose and tell you subconscious to start winning or you will starve, or maybe just skip a meal, since in your case would starve to death in a short time. or require hospitalization. It was not your only blunder, you also lost a rook as a result of retreating the queen while your rook is attacked at the same time.

This is nuts. Do people get money for all the time and effort they spent getting to 2000 elo? A job? Friends? A partner? Anything that is actually worth something in life? It's just a board game, that is all!

I don’t mean any disrespect to white, but white was hanging stuff left and right in this game. To relatively simple tactics. White was completely rattled after losing the bishop on move black’s play was relatively easy given that. The commenter’s cheating accusation is highly irresponsible and should be withdrawn. People seem to think it’s cheating anytime their favorite player loses regardless of how well they play.
