I think that is something to be proud of Patrick. Really good spot. I enjoyed watching it. I agree it might be your best ever checkmate. Earlier, in your analysis at 18:59 it is not clear whether you are really understanding why you should play Bxb1. You noticed the bishop was pinned, and that if it moves you can win the knight. But in the game it was not clear whether you noticed that white could avoid the loss of a piece with Nxf5. During the analysis you notice that white has Nxf5 but you seem to just focus on the the fact that it allows that bishop to be exchanged. But Bxb1 wins a whole piece. You probably should have spotted that. 23:10 I also missed that white could not play en passant during the game. Had they played it I would have liked to think that both of us would have noticed the hanging queen. 23:55 Your pieces were really crushed together getting in each other's way. It would have been cool to spot the pin on the pawn and get your knight to e4 even at the loss of the pawn. 26:00 When you played Qd8 - to get your queen into the action - I would have considered Nf6.It gets your knight into the game. If they take you have Qh2+ and it looks a very strong attack. Anyway. overall a great game. I thought your opponent put you under some pressure early on but you held up well and then executed your attack. Long live the hat!

Your recognition of the position after white moved rook to f3 was outstanding. I’ve only seen the position in puzzles. White could have moved differently and prevented the disaster but he didn’t. You made it possible by castling queen side. I’m glad you acted intuitively rather than waste minutes calculating. Good chess involves pattern recognition as well as patience and tactical boldness.

Great find for mate! Earlier in the game you defended f7 by moving your Rook to f8. Computer had a tactic using the pinned queen, but also a better defence of f7 was Rook h7. That way you could have kept your Rook on the open file and would be ready to double up faster after long casting. Always look for moves that achieve multiple things. Goal: defend pawn. Then look and see if you can find more than one way of doing it. If yes, choose the option that gives you something extra. I would still like to hear you talk about what your opponent wants on his next move, much more often. In this game, specifically when he moved his Queen to e1. You had just mentioned your f7 pawn was weak, so then would be a good time to look for ways he could put pressure on it. Maybe if you keep wearing the hat, this will develop naturally.

Great game, Patrick! Beautiful to see you (1) find the double Rook sac mate, and (2) have the patience to thoroughly blunder-check the variation before you pulled the trigger. So well done. Very impressive, and inspiring for the rest of us patzers cheering you on from the sidelines. Something tells me we'll be seeing more of that hat! 😉

Yes Patrick! After I pointed out your M5 last game I was so happy to watch this and not only that but you took your time to check the pattern fully. It was M6 I think that you fully calculated. All forcing but so awesome. Your opponent didn't realise until the Queen came in. Very satisfying. Well done

Great mate Patrick. I'm sure you saw a mate with a pawn on g3 and queen on h2 or something similar before. So you spotted that idea pretty quickly. Thats what I meant with my comment some videos ago. You stored that pattern in your memory so when you saw this pawn on g3 you noticed a potential mate/attacking plan if your queen could join the action. Then you figured out a way to make your idea work by the double rook sacrifice. That was a great example on how to think in chess. By solving and repeating a lot of puzzles you store these ideas permanently in your brain. Then during the game, you will spot ideas even when they are uncomplete. Like the pawn on g3 was there but no queen. So your goal was clear, you knew what you were aiming for because of pattern recognition. Then you used your time to figure out how to achive that goal.

Nice finish saccing both rooks, now you just need a Gotham review of your game. About the opening pretty sure H5 is only to prevent opponent who played H4 from advancing pawn further which is why it is inaccurate when they dont play H4

What a great mate! I was worried for a second that you hadn’t seen it. I thought you were going to try to force the Queen in there first, which would have been too slow and given them a chance to open an escape. Loved watching this win! Cazad0r75

Move the queen twice in the opening. Remember a few games back when a5 was the move. I think it was here too, instead of moving the queen back. You are getting rid of his bad bishop for him taking with the knight. Still, I find white's opening play suspect. Now you are moving rooks off of open files. So, you lost two moves out of the opening. Two moves with the queen and ditto with the king rook. Terrible. Though your opponent was even worse and blundered so he lost. Nice find on the double rook sac, but he walked into it, still it was a good find. Analysis: You say are attacking on the q-side with pawns but f6 is better. then you take back with the knight, according to machine, but you play exf6. minor point He blundered a piece in the opening, but you missed it. Though he is essentially lost at this point even though you did not find the best moves. I find arguing with computer moves at your level really rather ridiculous. exf5 is best but you play Nxf5, are you even following your own analysis? Better by a mile to take exf5 +1.43 vs. the move Nf5 +.59 f6 is better than Nxe3.

@10:31 your thought process is insufficiant because you fail to see Things. Your oppenent cannot capture en Passente because His Queen on g3 would hang. You can argue that He will get some Play for IT after exf6, Qxg3, Pxe7, Rxf1, Rxf1, Qxe3, Kh1, Re8, Bxe6 but its Not sufficent
@powerslave88888
@powerslave88888 22 күн бұрын
Or instead Bxe6, Rf7 will hold the tension AMD ITS indeed a little unpleasant. Maybe than sacrifice the rook on e7 and Afterwards capture the c3 pawn with the Queen so the White knight IS lost and at the end Its winning for black

He follows the main move but does not see what happens behind each piece, same when the knight goes to h4 earlier he sees knight x BIshop but misses the knight moving has opened up a attack on h5 by queen and bishop thus it’s not in his calculating, he does the same every game
