I never thought of it, but it must be puzzling to a horse, esp. a wild one, that we change clothes. They never change their clothes, so are we the same person if the shirt has lettering or if there is a strange thing on our heads? And just like humans, I suppose some horse are more sensitive to one modality or another; one horse is visual, another goes more by scent, some horses like a soothing voice. Even though I'm never going to train a horse, it's really interesting to learn more about horses & indulge my childhood nerdy obsession!

I was thinking the same when I walked up to my mustang. I wore a different had, jacket and hat sunglasses on. She still recognized me. BTW my dog too. 😂

When i worked with wild welsh ponies i always loved their first reaction to mountaineers mint cake. For most it became the the ultimate good girl/boy snack.

It must seem weird to him. In the wild if he were to take food from a horse higher in the pecking order than him, as you are to him, wouldn't he get his proverbial butt kicked? Maybe that's why he takes the food then bolts away? I'm curious why it is necessary to give horses treats from the hand...

Does Zephyr have a hunter's bump? Or is it just an illusion caused by a lack of muscling?

No hunters bump. He has a lot of muscling on his booty. He does have a steeper croup.
