A simple way to improve your understanding of the written form of a language is to read foreign newspapers or literature. Pro tip: listening to foreign podcasts will jump start your learning as well!

I think it would be really cool if you made a video describing the process of learning foreign scripts (which ones did you find most difficult, which strategies did you use, etc)

Reading the newspaper is fantastic! It really helped improve my formal French vocab!

That's my morning ritual. I figured that I read the news anyway, so I may as well do it in my target language. The first thing I do is open Yahoo and go to the Brazilian page, read one article in Portuguese, read the next article in Italian, the next in Spanish, and the last one in French. At the very least, even if I don't gain new words, I am doing maintenance as I dread losing what I have learned.
