We're not that far, maybe in 4-5 GPU generations this will be mid range. The 4090 can already render amazingly realistic graphics in Cyberpunk 2077 with some mods, the car models look pretty much like real! And look at it this way, the 3060ti, one of the lower end 30 series cards can match the power of the 1080ti, the flagship card 2 generations back. So if we continue that level of progression, it's not far at all.
