Hi Supriya, thank you for that tutorial. I have watched some others before, but did not unterstand, how to hold my hand when lifting up the hoop while doing the vortex. I watched some parts of your video with reduced speed, now I understand it and the vortex works (not so smooth, but I think that it is only a matter of time to learn it). Greetings from Germany :-)

Hello Supriya. Big fan of your videos. I have a standard HDPE hoop from hula hoops India and it weighs 450g. I’m finding it hard to keep the hoop up after grabbing it coz of the weight. Do u think I need a lighter polypropylene hoop to do these tricks ?

Practise with HDPE only to begin with if you wish to develop strength in the process. Lighter weight hoops are easier to lift up for sure :)

Hi Supriya. I'm unable to hold the hoop horizontally after grabbing it behind my back. Do you think it's just a matter of practice or will taping it provide a better grip?

Don't worry about it Surabhi. Like you identified yourself, it is just a matter of practise. You can do some arm raises holding the hoop facing horizontally along the sides of your body. Raise your arms up and down form both the hands to develop the strength you need to lift the hoop. Eventually as you keep practising you would be able to guide yourself better :) Best wishes for your hoop journey :)

Hi Supriya, for this float-up, if my hoop is circling towards the right (clockwise) on my waist, do I have to use my left hand? Because if I use my right hand, I ll have to change the hoop movement to clockwise. Or is that how it is supposed to be?

Yes, when the hoop moves clockwise use your left hand and when the hoop goes anti clockwise use right hand. 😇

@@balwinderkaurdhaliwal8465 You need to do some hand strengthening exercise with the hoop to develop strength first. You should try holding the hoop in a horizontal plane from the hand you want to attempt picking up the hoop for vortex. Hold the hoop up to your shoulder level keeping the hoop in a horizontal plane , do 10 reps on each side and over a period of time you would understand how much grip and strength is required to keep the hoop in a horizontal plane. Once you start feeling confident about this then try again. Hope it helps. Happy hooping!
