your videos are helping me greatly in my preparation for full extractions and immediate dentures. I have an anxiety disorder and am quite scared of getting through this whole process. especially the first few days...thanks for sharing
@SonshineLady78 жыл бұрын
Hi Kayrylee! How did your extractions go? I also live with an anxiety disorder and my main anxiety is that I will be awake. I've had major dental work done over the past 30ish years and had an amazing dentist who was an expert in comfort measures for his patients. For some of the more extensive work he prescribed Halcion which put me into a "twilight sleep." The dentist who will be doing my extractions uses Valium instead and I'm concerned I will be "too awake." I've had all my back teeth pulled but, for some unexplainable reason, having especially the two top front teeth pulled is freaking me a bit.

I’m so happy I found you! I go for my first appt/consult in a couple weeks, on the 21st. I’m terrified of the pain (having IV sedation) and I’m so scared of getting a major infection in my jawbones and it going to my brain and dying! Has this ever happened? I just turned 55 and I still have about 14 teeth on top and 14/16 on bottom. Several have decayed away but the roots are r still in my gums!!!! Omg how can they pull those? Or will they have to cut them! Your videos are helping me not be as scared but I’m worrying rd I’ll go into shock and have a massive heart attack--if I don’t get a brain infection!!! Please help ease my mind!

A dry socket is a hole where your tooth was and when they extract it instead of the extraction leaving a blood clot to help it heal there's no blood clot so it's left with a hole in your gum. The one I had I looked in the mirror with a flashlight and saw this white thing at the bottom of the hole (where my tooth was extracted) turned out to be my jaw bone. They are very painful! I had to go back to the dentist for like four weeks so he could put some kind of medicine in the hole to numb the pain. After that I didn't have any trouble with it and it healed the way it should have in the first place. I have had two and they are not fun.

Hi Debbie...I haven't had my final extractions/dentures yet so I can't be of much help on this topic yet but, if you're not a member yet, I HIGHLY recommend joining the online Dentures A New Smile (DANS) community. LOTS of great people and help. The website is: denturesanewsmile.ning.com/ If your application for membership gets stuck in "pending" - then go to: denturesanewsmile.ning.com/main/index/report At the very bottom of the page, on the right side is a link to "Report an Issue." Go there and state that you have been waiting for your membership to be approved. I had to do that and got an email response that same day!

This lady has done much better than most people do. I'm having very sore gums and bottom dentures cause me too much pain to wear them and they don't stay in place anyway. I'm at day three now and not close to being happy with what I have done. By the way, Halcion didn't do much to me to ease my anxiety much less the pain during the procedure. In all honesty, being put to sleep is the only way to go. I just couldn't afford it. This is a traumatic procedure to be undertaken and it is life changing in many ways.

Oh wow, that is too funny! Mine are starting to sneak back, at 5 weeks, but they're not what they used to be. I don't miss them at all, because I don't miss anything about the way I used to look hahaha.. How do you like yours?
@shigdon889910 жыл бұрын
Beach Chick I like them :) I watched your other video on "glue"...I'm guessing for me the adhesive might be a little different since I had no stitches at all (not sure if that's a good thing or not)...but I have reached that point where the swelling is pretty much gone, so I have some looseness. I've done adhesive just on the palate up till this point, but I'm thinking maybe since I'm 12 days out it might be okay to start putting some in the front?

I have a bigger appetite I can’t get enough to eat and my mouth says no don’t eat . I was going to fast as it can help with healing in several ways besides not contaminating the mouth or risk getting food in the sockets But I’m too hungry.

You train dogs?? I LOVE training and dogs and will be having my immediate dentures on the 24th. Aahh!! I am keeping my bottom front teeth, 6 of them and they keep trying to talk me into "natural shades" and I am like yeah, I want to kind of match my bottom teeth but I really want to whiten them as much as possible and then get as white as dentures as I can on my uppers because, I smoke and drink coffee...so they are going to get a little dingy, right? *sigh* Why can't they just let me error on the side of whiter than the side of yellower? Is yellower a word? Apparently, since my spellcheck program isn't correcting it. LOL Anyway, I'd LOVE to see some videos on dog training if you are game. I know there are the main two sides of thinking when it comes to training and they can get pretty controversial but ultimately, I believe it comes down to what is best for the dog and that's the bottom line. Okay, I'm rambling...way too nervous about the 24th which I shouldn't be...I've had a child with no medication natural, so no biggie right? Except I was not terrified of giving birth! Ugh! Okay, here we go!

I am a week past E-Day. Days 2-5 were the worst for me. My swelling and bruising didn't peak until day 4/5! I'm still not able to speak clearly; and most of the pain came from the bone shaving and a sore spot on the bottom from it rubbing the inside of the gums beneath my tongue. I have been living on Jell-O, pudding, oatmeal, applesauce, mashed bananas, scrambled eggs and lots of ice cream. It hurts to chew anything not soft. Saltwater rinses 4 times a day and at night before bed followed by a 30-60 second rinse with Biotene. I too have been craving lots of water....ice water, the colder, the better. Also, if I never have to eat scrambled eggs again, I'd be a happy camper! I watched a lot of videos prior to E-Day; but I must say that none of them prepared me for the emotional aspect of it all. The first week is the hardest part so far. Day 8 here and I am just beginning to feel a little better, but that's probably from the pain pills...lol I'm a total hermit, refuse to go out in public until I can speak clearly without sounding like a drunkard! Everyone says that it gets better, I'm hoping that will be soon!

Where are you going to in North Carolina. Myrtle Beach down towards Hatteras where you going?.
@sharonsanderson4514Ай бұрын
I got my teeth extracted on the 8th October I had to hunt down my money after a split from Dental works here in Hickory North Carolina and then when the extractions were done they showed my immediate dentures in my mouth I was bleeding profusely had multiple incisions and they didn't fit then I was choking and on the the saliva and the blood and they packed my mouth full of cars and sent me up the road without any pain medicine or anything they sent in a prescription for amoxicillin and that was it. And now that all the stitches have come out and and the swelling is going down I have two black eyes my face was black. And I have not been able to wear them I put them in for a few minutes and they are not even not even close so I've got some Christian grip yesterday and I'm going to try it as soon as I eat my breakfast I'm going to go in there and wash my mouth out and clean my teeth and try to realign these things because I have to have a driver take me to the place today switch from in Hickory all the way to Greensboro and it cost me$100 every time I go. But I'm dreading The experience if it doesn't turn out well. I can't afford to go down there every 2 or 3 days just to do what I'm supposed to do that's why I found a establishment at that time to do my teeth and now the company split and taking no complete responsibility and what the situation for me is.
