Thank you, I have felt very alone during this journey and have been given very little information about what to expect and what to do. I found your series and it has been a great help. Smile on. ;)

I've watched most of your videos and they've been very informative in helping be OK with making a decision to get dentures. I was a single dad for quite some time and spent my money on my kids for braces while ignoring my own teeth. I had braces when I was younger, back when they used bands and basically forced your teeth into position. This led to problems later, coupled with a head on collision I was in at the age of 16 that resulted in a broken jaw where my teeth slammed together so hard it actually chipped some molars. One key thing you said regarding heart palpitations and overall health made up my mind. I had 17 teeth extracted a little over two weeks ago. The pain was minimal, I only had tot ake Motrin. The hard part is that after two weeks with light adjustments it still feels like my lowers are swimming especially when I flood my mouth with soup. My uppers aren't too bad, but it's still hard to eat anything substantial. I'm wondering if you experienced the same in the beginning and if this is just a time to be patient. I love having whiter, straight teeth for sure! My dentist even staggered the lowers a bit to give them a more natural look.

I like polygrip adhesive, and so I like that over fix odent. I haven't tried any powdèrs or cushion grip. For me, the polygrup seems to hold really well, and washing your mouth gets rid of it quickly. I don't mine admitting I am lazy, and want the fasest stuff i can find. Having all my teeth either cut out or pulled asleep on oral surgery was a great move on my part. A lot of my teeth were broken off flus with my gums, and the teeth under my 20 year old bridges were rotting. I eas 70 at the time and with super soft teeth, I surmised I was lucky my own teeth lasted as long as they did. BTW, if someone unexpected comes to the door, you have to explain you didn't have time to put in your dentures and swallow your pride. Also. Thanks for talking the time to make these videos. I'm sure every denture wearers benefit from them. Also, not to troll you, I think with your dentures in you have a pretty face and that is why everyone is looking at you.

Your videos, and your journey, have helped me immensely. I still have one more appointment for final extractions, and don’t have the dentures yet, another month or so. No one warns you about the psychological impacts of extractions, and having a dentist so close to my smile, after spending my whole life hiding my mouth. Anyways, thank you.

I've seen a couple of your videos, THANKS they have answered many questions I had. I also work with animals so I guess I am more worried about the function (I want them to look great too), like when I give a command I need it to come out right EVERY TIME because many of the K9's I work with are NOT pet types (Though I do work with some pet dogs every now and then). I'm just looking for the best stuff to use to get the best results just like everyone else.

I think I just saw your pic over on DANS.. did you make it there? You're going to be fine as far as communicating with the dogs, and none of them noticed anything with me as far as speech.. even on the looser days. EXCEPT for the days I went to the dentist. It happens to smell like the vet I think, so they were very unnerved by my smell. Shower before going near them!

Beach Chick I am new to the DANS site (That's why I put the same picture up) And its interesting that the dogs think that the dental work smells are like the vet, My personal dogs love the vet and all 3 of them tried to lick my mouth when I came back from getting my teeth pulled. Now I just need to find a place to fix my bad denture while I am waiting for the implants to heal, right now I have nothing, but I still seem to laugh all day, lol!!

I've always had terrible teeth. I'm so very afraid of dentures.... you're helping calm me. I was a model and had a great time for awhile, never thought I'd need dentures at 30..... my dentist never ever truly fixed my teeth... he charged me, but only did thing's to get me by. I'm scared. I'm sobbing like an idiot. But it's time. THANK YOU FOR BEING AN INSPIRATION.

I've had heart palpitations for many years. Was completely checked out in my 30's. I was initially diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse and told that's what was causing the palpitations. 20-some years later I have the mitral valve rechecked and was told I *don't* have mitral valve prolapse...and I was premedicating before going to the dentist for all those years...arrrrggghh!!! I've noticed the palpitations are back now more frequently *BUT* I also have Hashimotos Hypothyroidism that causes all kinds of whacko symptoms. Ummmmm...and I drink a lot of Coke. I never considered my teeth contributing to the heart palpitations but that would be wonderful if they stopped!!

You might try gingerale which won't stain your teeth but if you don't brush teeth right after sugary drinks will rot your teeth and simply give you bad calories. I was in the same bad habit then I got myself used to unsweetened green tea, and I now have this awesome water sterilization bottle and ice which makes water taste great. I still have soda as a treat once in awhile so I know how easy it is to get addicted to. If you have dentures, just soak them more often in fix o dent water. I never leave my dentures dry out. Either they are in my mouth or their case filled with water and a disinfectant tablet dissolved in the water.
