Day #7 of the 2024 Whiskey Advent Calendar: Jaywalk Rye

With a great story background and a smooth, strong, spicy flavor, this rye is a contender for my top pick (so far), but the memories of day 2's Bahkti are still strong. The rye is the star with this whiskey, and it delivers in smell and taste.

I love the information about the grains used and goals of the distillers. It's amazing what they can achieve with different strains of rye, NY water (best pizzas in the USA), and their own bespoke techniques.

Mixed it up & opened today's whiskey in the afternoon & turns out it was perfect choice for that! I got the licorice & orange peel straightaway and also cinnamon jumped out on my palate.

A good change from day 6! A very sweet, spicy rye. A nice surprise with good mouthfeel. Good sample of another whisky I’m not likely to find in my area
