For those who are struggling with the Plank ( not only in this video , but generally ) : one of the tricks is that the mind gives up FASTER than the body, so actually you have to completely shut your brain off and just concentrate on your breath; because in the second you think " I can't hold it anymore " is the second you actually collapse, but if you focus on your breath, then you increase your maximal potential to hold the plank, because your body will hold on to it much longer than your brain would " think " ( the plank is such a great analogy for the body intelligence ) Also , for the wrist hurting : be mindful to really keep your arms as vertically as possible, so that your weight is placed on the CENTER of your palms; don't let your wrist to bend, because that causes the hurting. The arm has to be perfectly aligned with the forearm, elbow and palms, otherwise it will hurt.

You are welcome and definitely do it ! Listen to me : I had WEAK ARMS and VERY WEAK WRISTS when I started to train - this is the reason for why I have read a lot of books about the correct techniques for every exercise. These are just simple, easy to remember tips in order to maintain your body in a correct position, but it will make you go a long way, because you will reduce the chances of injury and this knowledge IS WORTH GOLD. Do you believe that I haven't got any injury IN MY LIFE EVER since I started to train ? Yes, that's true. And it's only because I paid attention to these important details, like the alignment of the joints. You just have to pay attention in the beginning and your mind is going to remember it automatically after a while ! You will also improve a lot faster than if you would just rush through the movement ! FORM always comes before STRENGTH - without correct form, there is no real strength ( and this is a great analogy for everything you do in life ! ) I wish You All Smashing Health & Energy !!!

I sometimes go out of the 30 Days of Yoga challenge to do other things that Adriene has online to build up strength. As Adriene says, find your space. I think today was my best practice yet. Even though I struggled with the side plank, I really felt like I was fully invested in the practice and like my mind wasn't wandering. I've always been someone who hates working out because I get so discouraged when I don't know how to do something or I feel like I can't do it, but today's practice helped me to be more confident and I really enjoyed it even though I struggled!

I just got done rocking the morman tabernacle choir singing Battle hyme of the Republic..... Always gets me.... I just might travel out west to utah again but go to saltlake city. My birth right. Navoo illinois to saltlake must have been immensely tough in the 1800s. No roads just determination and moxie. Thanks for having my whole body get attention in this guided practice. Im all set.Lets go

Ah Adriene, you really do have a way of making me feel calm. When ever I fall out of doing yoga I come back to this 30 day challenge to kick start and reignite the passion and love I have for it. I am currently stuck in a hotel in government quarantine and you have been my saving grace. Thanks for all the positive vibes! Cannot believe how quickly I see a change in my mind and body ❤️👌

I didnt sweat much days 1-6 but I was DRIPPING sweat today...sadly I has to stop the video like twice to grab water and just collapse before continuing but it was a great workout...probably will have to do this challenge over after 30 days are up so I can try and do it better next timexD

reading the comments after the work out is such a treat -- yesterday was tough but today by far was the hardest one. I had to pause the video and take a 5 min breather/water break. Side planks are KILLER!!

Yeah baby, day seven I'm in yoga heaven lol 😝 Thank you Adriene. Side note, every time I say your name I say it like Sylvester Stallone from Rocky movies 🤣🤣🤣 All joking aside thank you so so much for being such a fantastic yoga instructor and thank you even more for your awesome KZbin channel that has literally changed my life for the better in so many ways. One example is doing yoga every day with you has really really improved my meditation practice. I could go on and on but I just wanted to throw one example out there. I hope that everyone has a beautiful and blessed day. NAMASTE YOGA FAMILY!!! ONE LOVE!!!

Dang. Today was HARD. I sweat SO MUCH. Why did I underestimate yoga so much before?! It really is POWERFUL! I always thought of Yoga as that thing that skinny, rich girls did to look cool and that it really didn't help, that it wasn't a real exercise, that it just made people look cool and look like they were working out when they really weren't. But I was so wrong and terribly misinformed. I am thankful that I can do yoga from my home without having to go to a class. I don't think that I would have ever tried it if that had been the only way that I could do it. It is challenging. I fumble a bit. I am realizing just how little strength that I have in my arms and legs and how much I need yoga. I am here. I almost chickened out on today due to the length of the video, but I am here and I did it! ❤

First time I actually stuck to the daily practice!! I broke up with my bf and right after that, I got covid so I had to isolate in depression for 2 weeks. I have diffcult exams soon and quite a lot of work now so now even though my isolation ended, I don't really have time to socialize and get happier by hanging out with friends. Days go by fast and are always the same. Your yoga practice breaks the stereotype a bit and makes me feel more peaceful and lets me have a sense of achievement. I honestly really think yoga helped me not get crazy last days. Thank you!

Practicing his in 2023! this was the first 30day program I ever completed during the pandemic in 2020. I loved it then and still do. Dedicate and this 2015 version were great ones that I have repeated several tiimes. Hope 2024 challenge is more like these!!

I remember when I first did this video, I was dying, could not hold a side plank for 2 seconds to save my life. Here I am a little less than a year later and I'm in LOVE with this video! It still makes me sweat, it's still hard, but I can do it all the way and it makes me feel GOOD. I feel strong now. I'm not the strongest, but I'm also not the couch potato that I was a year ago 😂 I'm proud that I managed to do yoga almost everyday for the last 10 months. Thank you so much Adriene for changing my life ♥️

I'm enjoying the vinyasa and the downward facing dog a lot more now. I've been feeling a lot of negativity this year. I travelled to heal and when I got back I decided to do yoga. A week in and I'm feeling so great! Lesser negativity and I feel good energy coming in everyday! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Keeping a comment diary as I do this program. DAY 7: Holy god was this work out intense! Are you punishing me for saying yesterday was too easy? Adriene! Peace! Lol. Despite my whining this was an awesome, and yes, for me a pretty testing work out. The whole kissing scene from downward dogs was brutally fun. And I did a sideways plank for the first time in my life! I held the right side-plank for about two breaths shorter than Adriene, and the left side was a wobbly mess that stayed at most ten seconds. Overall, if there's one big message I've taken away from my 7-days here, it's that my left side is inflexible and weak. I'm sweaty, thirsty and happy. Time for water and a shower! See ya'll on lesson 8!

I love and appreciate these videos. It has been a few years since I've done yoga (or any sort of regular exercise), and this day killed me, and was really hard on my confidence. The lack of flexibility, wrist strength, longevity. I'm doing this on a mat on carpet, the only space I have at home, and I wonder, do anyone else's wrists get absolutely slaughtered in any upper-body supporting position? Did I just get that weak? It's hard not to feel defeated, or like I'm doing something wrong. I will continue, and take the rest of your faith and confidence into the next practice, when I lack my own.

Today was a weird one for me! I started out really peaceful, happy and looking forward to the practice. When it started to move a little more I felt a bit dizzy and sweaty and kept slipping out of positions. Ended up not fully committing and beating myself up about it. I'm a complete beginner to yoga, is this normal? I've done really well with the other days and I just hope I can practice better tomorrow.
