Those birds on the trail I think were meadowlarks. When you are next to their nest they get very nervous. They do something called The broken Wing act. They are trying to distract you from going near their nest. I think that's what that bird was doing!

Killdeer was the bird. They act hurt to protect the nest and babies🎉
