Micro Bio: In 2013, I spent one year riding a bicycle through Africa, a journey of 8,000 miles through 11 countries. Following this adventure, I became fascinated with “slow travel” and the perspective that comes with exploring the world in such an old fashioned way. More recently, I hiked the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland and trekked 2,652 miles from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Derek, totally agree about the importance of the mind in keeping going when the going is tough. It sounds like having those people around you who have shared the experience and the struggle is important to :-)

Hey Derek, really enjoying your videos and as you've published them, I'm assuming you may have gone a long way. For me, the second week saw lots of people in pain. I gave an Irish girl a couple of tabs of ibuprofen, and saw many people limping, especially some of my friends from South Korea. Not an easy trip, but one you can fight through.
