Walking the Camino 2019 | Santa Domingo to Belorado.
My name is Derek Cullen and I am walking the Camino de Santiago 2019. Thank you for following my journey and a special thanks to those of you who have “bought me a coffee” (link below) as encouragement to keep making these videos.
Micro Bio: In 2013, I spent one year riding a bicycle through Africa, a journey of 8,000 miles through 11 countries. Following this adventure, I became fascinated with “slow travel” and the perspective that comes with exploring the world in such an old fashioned way. More recently, I hiked the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland and trekked 2,652 miles from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail.

My wife and I are planning on walking the Camino de Santiago in September 2020. We love following you journey. I’ve also watched some of your PCT videos. They are also very enjoyable. After we finish watching all of your Camino videos we’re going to watch your walk around Ireland. Keep up the singing. My wife wanted to know why you don’t use trekking poles. All the best to you in all of your endeavors.

Wayne Thomas Hey Wayne, thats brilliant. I ALWAYS use trekking poles. You dont see them in the video because I have to hold the camera or set the camera up lol For the first 1000 miles of the pacific crest trail, I hiked without poles and had lots of injuries. For the next 1500 miles i used poles and had very little issue. Poles are great!
