Blake Wolff yeah. But this episode while great felt weird using preconstructed planeswalker decks. I mean gruul would have had lightning strike in standard for burn. Didn’t it seem strange that they had used planeswalker decks with those colors in dominaria?

Danny Knight yes and no because they used pre con decks in almost all of the old episodes. I think they are just easier for guests who dont play much to pick up

Blake Wolff well yeah. But I find it to be too much of a coincidence for them to land on dominaria planeswalker deck colors. And yeah the decks are preconstructed. I mean no one in their right mind would play 2/3 for 3 mana vanilla. If someone used tolarian scholar... draft

At the very beginning of the intro it shows a red mythic called “Apex of Power”, and no card is named that. I think its gonna be in core set 2019. It says “exile the top seven cards of your library. Until end of turn, you may cast nonland cards exiled this way. If this card was cast from you hand, add ten mana of any one color to your mana pool.” Im not sure, but I think it costs 7 generic mana and 3 red mana. Its a sorcery.

fired1000 the person instructing will naturally have the advantage. Unless they are running a standard deck while giving the newbie a modern or legacy deck, odds are the instructor will win. What should be thier main priority is teaching the basics of the game procedure and general archetypes.

FDRpi: At what point did I say you should intentionally lose? I think I said focus on teaching, not winning. And then followed up by saying that the teacher has a huge advantage in the outcome of the game. All I am saying is that teaching is the important thing; that is, if you are trying to make a newcomer interested in the game and not just finding a new person to destroy. But this is general advice, there are people that learn best going through the deep end, so have at it if you think its the best strategy.

Yeah, Day9, I'm a gonna level with you... I find that every color is more than capable of being CHEAP AS HELL! Red: Hasted monsters bitchslapping you before you can barely get started and burn way any blockers White: Don't like what you see? Then exile it! Black: Death Touch and forced sacrifice Green: Smash them artifacts! Bump up those tramplers! So your hate of Blue feels kind of weak when you need to have a good sense of timing to actually play Blue...

Blue: You can't do any of those things if I just counter every spell you cast from the word go, even your turn one spell I can force of will and then use any artifact with imprint to have limitless counterspells while you endure an agonizing 20 turn long death to a storm crow.

I dislike black the most, because they kind of get to use tricks the other colours use and then they have their own. Flying, lifelink, forcing sacrifices, destroy, bringing creatures back from the graveyard - black tends to get it.
