I just love your videos! Your work is so beautiful. I do not have a big budget for my journal-making so I make do with this and that. For a tearing ruler with the decorative edge I use a very long serrated bread knife with a more irregular blade pattern. Works a treat! It is interesting to think up new ways to manage without absolutely all the equipment available. Continue being a fabulously creative lady! I love, love, love your style!

Fun idea for the glossy paper try sanding it with sandpaper I did it with a denim paper to make them look worn and it came out great

on glossy papers, I have used an off-white or cream-colored chalk paint and kind of scraped it over the paper. It dulls it down and makes it usable. Just a thought. I enjoy your videos very much!

You may be able to dull the glossy paper a bit by covering it with either clear gesso or light matte medium.

Hi I use clear gesso to dull shiny paper. A bit gritty but kills the shine. Keep up the great. Hugs Carolyn

I made my own version of clear gesso by using actual gesso/plaster, water and glue. It does get very gritty, but I actually love the texture!

I have vintage papers from 1920’s that are light pink blue and green. They are the license papers for the radio battery. In western Canada a license was required for the batteries to operate a radio.

I discovered that I can cut an edge with my old pinking(now paper not cloth) scissors then trim off the tips of points it looks like ticket ends and postage stamp edges.
