Choreographer Agnes DeMille discusses her early years as a dancer in London and the incidents that led to her present career. Topics spoken about are her books on dancing, her changing dance preferences, as well as the impact her dancing has had on America.

Day was a true pioneer of public television: co-founder of KQED in San Francisco, president of WNET upon the merger of National Educational Television (NET) and television station WNDT/Channel 13, and most recently, Chairman of the CUNY TV Advisory Board. The series features fascinating interviews with notable cultural and political figures conducted in the mid 1970's.

I studied dance in my teens, and was so inspired by Ms. DeMille's books. What a joy to watch this interview. Where did this world go? It seems there are none today who can hold a candle to the giants of DeMille's generation.

I never met her, but I saw her in the audience of the Metropolitan Opera House at a performance of, or the premiere of her ballet, The Informer. She was a constant inspiration to me and always will be. She is timeless.

How wonderful to see Miss DeMille -pre-stroke and less "crusty" as in her later years, Noel Coward wrote of her, "I don't know if I'd want to work with her...but she sure knows her onions!"
