I saw this cast in Pittsburgh. Godspell was written here at Carnegie Mellon University.The movie was OK, but the stage play had a charrm and intimacy the movie could never capture

this was the first national tour. Jesus was Mark Shera, Judas was Marc Ganzel, and I believe day by day was sung by Debby Weems, Valeri Williams sang turn back oh man, teh redhead looks like katie Hanley who did the film

Jesus is played by Mark Shera here( later of SWAT fame) I saw this at the Forrest Theater in summer of '73. I also saw Philip Casnoff as Jesus in same production.Barbara Deutch sang Day by Day, Cheryl Barnes same All Good Gifts, Kathleen Gordon, Barbara Lauren,Rick Varetta, Mark Ganzel as John the Baptist/ Judas, I'm forgetting some I know..
