I so enjoyed my stay with Donna and Bill at the Green Dragon last October. Funny thing happened yesterday. My wife and I are vacationing near Hiawassi and ran into Donna at Ingles! When watching 'HIKER' U-TUBE videos, it often reminds me of past experiences, on trails, or otherwise; Which has been somewhat therapeutic, for me, since having such a difficult time, trying to figure-out my best way to hike the AT, or maybe just be a trail angel. Ex. ~ When Little Bear spoke about her phone piece breaking, it reminded me of an experience i had this past week, while 'night-hiking' on a local trail in S.Carolina. [Occasionally, i hike (just a few miles) at night, on purpose, to enhance my survival-preparedness skills, in the event that i ever get lost, injured, caught in a storm, etc]. Well, i was less than 1/2 mi. from returning to my truck, after being annoyed several times, by the strap of my trekking pole getting snagged on my gear, when i finally decided to stop & figure-out, what was happening. When i saw that it was getting snagged on the case of my cell phone, it Quickly occured to me, that THAT was not my Worst problem ... "WHERE is my PHONE???" I had no choice, but to backtrack, Prayerfully (of.course ~ Prov.3:5,6), ... All the while, as i went deeper into the woods, i kept having these thoughts, such as, "What time is it? / (i'm almost 70 & Alone) "My legs are getting weaker, and i don't even know how much deeper i'll have to go. I had hiked off-trail, cutting across the trail, through thick brush 2/3 times, to reduce the distance, and now realized that i may not even find the phone, BUT (Praise The Lord!) I DID! It was in plain view, in the middle of the trail .If i had had an emergency, I couldn't even Call for help. Lessons Learned: (1) Be sure that such a device is Securely fastened (2) Check status of such devices on a frequent basis. (3) Having a Garmin would have made a vital difference. * i had already considered the option to go home without the phone, and return the next morning, but didn't want to leave a chance for the wrong person to find it first, or (being a mountain-biking trail) for a biker to run-over/damage the phone, if it was actually ON the trail, inwhich IT WAS. Therefore, it all worked-out, and as The Lord inspired David to Write in The 23rd Psalm, (v.6) "Surely, Goodness and Mercy shall follow me ALL The Days (and nights) of my Life." Wherefore, it behooves me to "Trust in The Lord with ALL my Heart..." (Prov.3:5...) A Chorus, which is One of my Favorites, is 'My Lord knows The Way through the wilderness'. May Your Journey on the AT Fortify Your Faith, and Make You STRONG in The Lord, (mentally, physically, and spiritually), filling Your Hearts with Courage to Walk through All the Valleys ahead. (Joshua 1.) I JN.5 teaches us that "Faith is The Victory that Overcomes The World" ... inwhich FAITH is Not UNDERSTANDING THE TRUTH, But BELIEVING IT ~ TRUSTING and OBEYING.

I just finished up my glass of water with apple cider at The Brittany 😉and bam! Another video from the Bears! You both look fresh and happy. Enjoy your extra day at hostel. I wise decision, Mama Bear! Cold wet weather is very dangerous when hiking, could lead to hypothermia. Loved the fashion show Forever onward, BEARS!🧸🐻👍⛰️👍

Hey Bears. Great video. I used to talk in my sleep. When in training in the Army, I would even give commands in my sleep. Love the vibe at the hostel. Fashion show was the bomb. The fashion show was awesome! And yeah, Blue mountain shelter is pretty much at the top and rather exposed. It's a really nice shelter. But I'm sure with it being windy it would be challenging to sleep.

So Happy for Y'all ... & Your WildFlower Adventures! * 'WildFlower' is my 'go-to' Honey flavor; Normally putting 'milk & honey' in my Coffee, or enjoying it with Peanut Butter, on a Sweet Hawaiian slider bun, etc. ... Little Bear's dreamy 'brown one' ... my 'guess' = may be one of her mom's No-Bake Oatmeal Cookies. Ha! In my early years, I 'Talked' and 'Walked' in my sleep (even out of the house ~ on 2 separate occasions. It mostly happened (with myself), when either exhausted or excited about a recent event. ... The bear-in-a-tree scene was so awesome! Thanks again, for Sharing your AT journey with us. One of my favorite 'Bible' words is 'Continue' (Heb.13:1); That's how You get to Katahdin! We had such a nice time. Little Bear asked to stay. I know it was partly because she missed our family and was able to talk to them all day. The other reason is her sweet connection to the people we’re meeting on trail. 🙏🏼💙
