Very nice! Looks great. Do you have any tips on grading day-for-night interior shots with multiple light sources, such as practicals?"

Protip: Build out this grade, or your version of this grade, and save it in a "LOOKS" PowerGrade album...that way it's always in your back pocket in case you need it in the future just throw it on. Once click and boom.

Such an awesome tutorial Qazi, quick q - is the color generator added in before the balance for a specific reason? I kinda might have thought it would have been added after the last adjustment you made? Thanks for any insights, keep up the awesome sauce!

This was great. What would you do to make lighting look more specular and hard. I notice the mad Max reflections in the puddles were a bit more shiney than on yours. It's that just a matter of having the light intensity in the shot already or can it be created?
@theqazman
@theqazman Ай бұрын
I wouldn’t push the specular highlights more than I did. It will just look unnatural and it’ll break apart, but yes, you would shoot it a certain way to get that in post.

Can you achieve this by using colour compressor in QT's tool I just bought. It would be great to do another tutorial vid thanks
@theqazman
@theqazman Ай бұрын
Yes you can but even better because you will get so much more control over you hues which will result in natural colors.

And if you have a torch or lantern in your hands, how can you preserve the color and brightness of the torch?
@theqazman
@theqazman Ай бұрын
so the technique that I showed when you’re using color generator keep getting closer to the neutral point and it will leave the brighter parts alone so then your lantern will retain. It’s natural color.

Nice match. But to be honest, the mad max grade itself looks pretty over the top artificial. I think the result just before the color generator effect looked great. Then tuning the highlights to make it pretty dim als some little tweaks would make for a more pleasing effect. No offense, but that mad max grade looks like a day-night conversion with whitebalance issues.
@theqazman
@theqazman Ай бұрын
this is just a personal preference you think it doesn’t look that good and I think it looks excellent. The only color grades that are ever remembered are the ones that are special and not the ones that just blend in and what we can see with our eyes. If that was the case, nobody would spend money going to the movies we can just pull out our phones and record our lives. And this is exactly the reason why I showed you multiple ways to skin this particular cat, whether you want to create a stylized look or you want to do a simple realistic date for night tutorial showed you both
