Day in My Life: Coffee, Physio, and Date Night in Tokyo

Yesterday I was very frustrated with KZbin and its content. A lot of youtubers post videos that has been done over and over again and I started to feel like the quality of the content is taking a nosedive. Since when did this platform become a nest for people who compete for views, advertise products they don’t use, and couldn’t do anything else right, so y’know why not do KZbin..? And then I watch your video, so beautiful, even thoughtful in sharing experiences like going to physio and what that is like, and you still apologize for not having higher quality content. Some people do crappy vlog for 365 days and call it an achievement. Thank you for raising the bar and restoring faith to this platform.

Wow gosh. Thank you for such a great comment! I read it aloud to Simon, we appreciate it because it does feel surprisingly hard to upload a video we feel isn’t “better” by our own standards. Like if the audio is noisy (the cars in the cafe scene) I felt like I wanted to cut it out. Or shaking footage. Or too much talking. But we’re trying to listen to our amazing audiences feedback and leave in more natural stuff. Thanks for the honest feedback! :)

Simon and Martina I’ve been a subscriber pre EYK nasty studio time and I know your videos are always in a format, maybe because both of you were teachers. Vlogs are a legit format of content, they always say it’s interesting walk a day in someone else shoes. However, I feel people then abuse it to show crappy cuts of drinking coffee in a cafe, shopping, going to the gym, and to the salon for friggin 365 days like an endless cycle of evil. Nobody is that interesting. I’d love a more relaxed, longer videos from you where maybe you vlog what physio is like in Japan and how is it different than other countries. Still have a “direction” to the videos but less so of a rigid format. Anyway I appreciate you take KZbin seriously and really think about what community you are building and what point you are making. This is the ultimate bar of standards.

Thank you for stressing the importance of strengthening TVA muscles! I had 2 babies in less than 2 years and ended up with a core injury (diastasis recti) so I've been doing rehab exercises for 4 years now. Also what you said about osteopaths is spot on. My massage therapist has done way more for my core than doctors! I love watching the two of you do romantic things together. My husband and I can only afford a few date nights a year living in Los Angeles so it's nice to live vicariously through you! And don't worry, these videos are not boring at all.

I appreciate your acknowledgement that pain may not always be a result of immediate damage. I work in the pharmaceutical field and it's disheartening to see the frequency with which we dispense pain medication as a maintenance therapy rather than properly addressing that pain. Keeping an open mind, exploring the limits of our bodies, and attempting to strengthen them can result is such wonderful relief.

Your videos are always such a pleasure to watch. That neighbor story in regards to the dog actually made me feel the same as Simon. I thought my heart was gonna fall out of my butthole as well lol. Got out of a really toxic relationship and was only able to find the strength to because I saw the way you two interacted with each other and supported each other and love each other and realised that, that is exactly what a relationship should be like. You guys are really couple goals. And I really do love how you mentioned physio therapy and how osteopathy works because as someone with severe chronic joint pain, I always wondered why the heck one part of my body would hurt when I barely used that portion. And physio therapy was something I was nervous to really go into because I've had a bad experience before regarding it. However, I will try again and this is something I will definitely be looking into. Love you guys always. Been a Nasty since the very beginning. Helped me through the lowest lows. Much love. ❤❤❤❤

I recently found it Was born with my L5 vertebrae and sacrum not fused correctly and I have been living with spondylolisthesis for 18 years not knowing that it was there until a few months ago. I am a dancer so I use my back a lot and because of that my muscles where working hard to keep my spine in place and I ended up having extreme back pain. I was told that it is something that can not be fixed without surgery but there is no need for it as long as I can bare with the pain. So for the future I will be battling this pain in my back since my career goal is to become a dancer I will have to push through the pain. I’ve watched your channel on and off for many years (since I was in middle school so about 5-6 years) and seeing Martina be able to get through the pain makes me feel like I can get thought is as well. Osteopathy is great! It really helped me with daily pain due to stress or bad posture. Hell because of the one who treated me I decided to go into it! I really recommend trying it at least once in your life you might be surprise by the result.

I also go to this amazing acupuncture guy who takes a lil look at what's going on and is like your hurting shoulder, are you perhaps sitting with your left leg crossed over the right one a lot? Hey Martina, I strongly suggest that you should learn Tai Chi which is a internal Chinese martial art that good for your health, especially for your balance. If you get a chance, try the traditional form which includes 60 movements. I've been learning Tai Chi for several months, and I feel a huge change cause learning Tai Chi benefits me physically and mentally. Hope you feel better!!! Cheers.
