I realized I romanticized having a busy life ever since I started watching your videos. Don't get me wrong. I love watching you do your thing. But I just got in consulting this year, and I never knew 'busy' until I tried working for 14 hours straight for the past two weeks, monday-saturday. With business renewals, tax, year-end closings, etc. at work, i have been completely inundated. I wish I enjoyed my teenage years more... Anyways, I get paid well so I have no room to complain. I'm lucky to even have a job

I was like that too--but through movies back in the day "the scenes working in new york or LA, grabbing a coffee, looking professional going to a nice office" made me romanticized a busy life. . kchoi is more realistic. when I did corporate and started traveling, I saw the reality, working all day and didn't even enjoy the destinations I'd visited. But it did serve me well, the experience, the pay etc were valuable. I don't think it's the type of job that's great for long term but amazing when you're young and full of energy and don't need much sleep (lol). You do learn so much in that environment. Once you have a family or want a more enjoyable life, you can switch careers. Good luck and learn a lot, get tons of references and network, make the most out of it since you're working 14 hours anyways.

join a consulting/business club at your university (there are often clubs that take on pro bono/non-profit work and also go to case competitions). and find out from your career office when consulting firms come to recruit. usually people look for internships at the beginning of junior year (to intern the summer before senior year) and then recruit for postgrad jobs at the beginning of senior year
