If you are making powders you can turn them into a paste first. Then you smear them on parchment paper and after dehydrating you grind it up. Also, dehydrates faster.

I did a “Mom’s Summer school “. Basically asked my kids what they would like to learn and do. Had them create a summer bucket list then we discussed as a family how we could accomplish most things on the list. Also during mom’s summer school I would add a couple of lessons that my kids had difficulty’s in school. Math , writing. Each kid is different .

Hi Lauren. I have been watching your channel for a long time now and thoroughly enjoy your content. I like the dehydrator but I was gonna tell you to look into the Harvest Right Freeze Dryer! It’s a game changer for home spices and herbs and even fruits and veggies and some meats. Tons of KZbinrs are advertising it and loving using it I’ve noticed. It doesn’t change the taste of the items you freeze dry where the dehydration process does. You can freeze dry then powder your garlic or onion or herbs or tomatoes and you have the perfect medium for whatever you need to cook with on hand. Anyway I just wanted to tell you about that product. I want one myself. They’re a bit pricey compared to the dehydrator but people are raving about the ability to save food in comparison to the dehydrator. Take care! Leslie-Alabama

Getting the dehydrator is a game changer! I can preserve foods for 10-15 years if stored properly. Ive been dehydrating from our farm produce for 20 years. When you do your onions, take the dehydrator out side........Your family will thank you! : )

Bonjour Lauren, Just a suggestion; I,ve dehydrated tomato slices and ground them in my Ninja blender. It became a fine powder which I now store in a mason jar. When I need tomato paste, I simply add a bit of water to the amount of tomato powder I need and voilà; tomato paste:)

Oh Lauren that lobster Mac n cheese recipe looks amazing! I’ll definitely be making that recipe. Your pantry makeover with the chest for storage is a great idea. Reorganizing my pantry/kitchen storage is my next project. Where do you keep your food? Is there another pantry just for food storage? And I didn’t know that you were no longer a wine company executive. Enjoy your summer spent at home with your kiddos!

My kids are 5 & 9. They have a handful of 1/2 day camps. My kids do not sleep in - up by 7:15 am every day. They have breakfast, do their summer homework (45 min of math and reading), take dog on a quick walk, one hour of tablet time (apple setting shuts them off after one hour) while I do chores. Then, we go do something after lunch like a park, pool, splash pads, etc. They play outside a lot too riding bikes, basketball, soccer, play set, trampoline, play with neighbors, etc. At night, we have dinner together and go on a walk, pool, watch a family show in our outdoor living space, etc.

no screen time? dont have screens. I have 4 boys who are ages 9-14 and we dont have tablets, we hide the remote and my oldest phone is only used for communicating with his baseball team and limited texts with friends during a set window. they play sports together, spend time outside, ride bikes, play with friends or read.

I, as a kid, either played with my friends, went swimming, or played something by myself. My two boys did the same thing. Maybe only allow them on their tablets an hour each day. You could play board games with them sometimes. If they go to friends' homes, ask their parents not to let them use the friends tablets.

Hi Lauren, when my kids were small I wasnt working and we couldnt afford camps. However,we did utilize the church events, free park events and the kids favorite believe it or not,was the library events and classes. These things filled my kids summer for little to no money and the kids had a blast!

Hi I’m Breeann 😊I’m a stay at home mom 😂 😆 I feel like that was for a life group intro I just did 😂 Well anyways advice or ideas that we do is fun days a least two or three during the week. We do forts, we let the kids “spend the night in each others rooms” like a sleep over. We don’t let our kids stay the night anywhere because I’m just not ever going to be comfortable this day and age to allow them. We allow kids to stay but not Stay anywhere else but family. We also do movie days where we darkened the windows with sheets, movie. I make pretend tickets, i announce the movie. They get fake money to buy in like a fake concession stand and we buy dollar tree candy because you get those big boxed candies and it’s $1. We have a pool but it’s still fun to do splash pads and community pools near us here in AZ they have a bunch of water slides in the pools. Mornings we will do morning paint chalk (wet chalk) write scriptures for neighbors and just a hi and your needed. ❤ Just plain river times and camping we do every summer. ❤
