Our pastor recently did a sermon on grief (just in time as it was days after we had to put our sweet dog down), but he emphasized that, as Christians, we are called to grieve, but not to grieve as those who have no hope (1 Thess 4:13). Your sister-in-law sounds like she is using her faith to keep her strong and doing the best she can- grieving with hope. She is in my prayers 💞

The Midnight Library is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo Good! You won't be disappointed. The best part of the book, in my opinion, is that it makes you think about possible ways in which your life could have been different if you made different choices which is pretty obvious but as I was reading the book (or at least that was my experience) my brain went all places about how and with whom I might have ended if I did X or Y instead of Z. It is so OBVIOUS yet so BRILLIANT!

I'm so sorry for your family's loss, particularly your sister in law's loss. I lost my mom, then three years later lost my dad and favorite uncle in the same year. Loss is incredibly hard and people forget that long after the condolences end, the grieving continues and the strongest people are sometimes the ones that are suffering silently.

I was pregnant with my rainbow baby when my best friend buried her mom after a long fight with ALS. I get what you’re saying about the balance.
