Agree. I think a lot of companies use "perks" like this to make people stay longer at the office. Team building activities and describing the work enviroment as "a family" are red flag indicators of manipulation, a toxic work enviroment or trying to overstep employee boundries in a number of ways from my experience. Work needs to be seperate from your personal life I've found as I get older.
