I've got an idea for a future video ..... Do you ever come across the new Smartcom controller? My colleague on the ground ehile I'm up in the air on a cherry picker can never remember how to work it/ manual overide etc to fire up the warm air heater. So a KZbin video would be an ideal tutorial

Sounds like a good idea. It's just getting in front of one which might be tricky.

i think your content would be better if u spent more time on the fault finding and less on the plant room tours. keep up the good work mate

Thanks for the feedback. I'll see what I can do. Let me explain a bit more about how/what I end up filming. At the moment I believe 75% of my work is servicing. Although I do get breakdowns, it's most likely that in the winter breakdowns will take over. Some of my breakdowns are during a service. Also just getting the bms to create a switch live can turn into a breakdown. Like this site, where I wasn't there to diagnose but started doing that on the boiler in question. I might have to start sabotaging things be able to do more breakdown vids, kidding. I believe that the tours can be good sometimes as many engineers are not picking up errors around plant rooms and some only specialise in boilers. Or maybe engineers aren't interested in finding mechanical or gas errors. Knowledge can be wanting in pickingup AR/ID situations. It also gives the viewer an opportunity to get a wider perspective of where I am. Also whilst I'm filming I am able to look for plant room issues at the same time. There are less experienced guys looking to pick up tips in a commercial plant room. Yet for the ones that know what I'm saying in the tours maybe it's annoying. Like I'm teaching how to suck eggs. Whereas breakdowns techniques are more complicated. I prefer the breakdown vids as they are more entertaining and intense at times. Although not always easy to film. 1 because it's an urgent matter and the client needs it back on especially if it's a total loss of a critical service. 2 because I need my hands free from my phone. Looking to invest in a go pro one day to attach to my head. 3. In a major leak I am most likely to put the filming to one side and try to isolate without distraction of my phone or it being damaged by water. I do strive to not use up any dead time talking about myself or personal matters, or about the client, yet try to focus it on the job at hand so hope that helps. Want the viewer to have things they can meditate on about from seeing my point of view on a site/boiler. Hopefully they can think, that's a good idea never thought of that. Or that's a bad idea, won't be doing that. In the shorts I do some techniques in repair work. I can't go off the cuff from the work that I'm there to do. That's my main point. Yet try to extract what I can that will assist the viewer. I am planning to put a survey to see what viewers prefer and hope that come winter there will naturally be more breakdowns to film. It can be tricky to make vids that please the whole audience as one wants more of a particular thing. So that survey might help. One of the most successful plumbing youtubers I know advised me to make more plumbing vids to attract a larger audience of DIYers. Yet before you know it one is doing vids to simply please the masses rather than what your trade is. Who knows. Best to get the balance right. The little channel is growing by about 16% a month so although it's not viral there's some progress. Plus I'm holding true to the channels goals. So I'll aim to make slight tweaks but no major adjustments. Hope this explanation helps.

Hi, I messaged you on Instagram, why are you not getting views on your KZbin channel?

Apologies for not seeing that message. Thanks for your concern. I'm taking a break from my phone at the moment so forgive me. Keep up your good work. I love making vids etc, and connecting with the viewers. Who knows the vids could be boring. Don't get too carried away with the stats etc bro. If people don't want to watch, no big deal. Have a good day.
