I gave up having my corgis sleeping in crates after they were potty trained. One dog sleeps on the bed and the other sleeps in different spots around the house. My dogs are on their own very regimented schedule. They want to eat at certain times, go for a walk when my husband finishes breakfast - I swear they wear watches!

He's gorgeous. Get him fluffed up bedding for the crate. Now you know why he won't eat his kibble, he waits for tastier things. It's a bad habit and he's young enough you can break it. Corgis gain weight just by looking at food. I know from experience. If I had to do it over again, no human food for my little fatman. BTW, if a car parks outside my dude will throw a fit about it.

Loved the video! :) My puppy Poppy is a Corgi mix, she would have LOVED that cheese & turkey sandwich! Cheese is her absolute favorite.

I have a question. I'd really appreciate if you or someone who owns a corgi would answer because I'm thinking about getting one. SO basically I've been thinking about getting a corgi but I live in an apartment. I have a plenty of time an energy to give the corgi the attention, excerice and training it needs. So that isn't an issue for me. But I've done some research about the breed and a lot of people say corgis bark loud and a lot. So I want to know if this is true and if it's possible to train a corgi not to bark (or at least reduce it) because I don't really feel like getting kicked of my apartment because of a barking dog. I want the honest truth because if a corgi isn't a good choise for someone who lives in an apartment I will look into other breeds.

our corgi does bark a lot. we haven't tried to train him not to bark, but I think it would be hard. but on the other hand, he mostly barks at what is happening outside of the house as he can see the street from our house and barks at cars/people. in an apartment he might not be as stimulated to bark

I have trouble with my corgi eating his kibble too! Any tips on that??
@EmmaAdamss3 жыл бұрын
lol we also struggle a lot with that 😅 we try to mix in broth or other human food into his dish so that he’s more enticed to eat it. Also after taking him for a long walk he is usually more hungry and willing to eat kibble!!

Why do you lock your dog in a crate overnight?
@EmmaAdamss4 жыл бұрын
we've done it since he was a puppy since it would chew a lot when younger. he probably doesn't need to be in the crate now but at night he goes in just by habit and seems to like it!
@AllenTax4 жыл бұрын
It can be pretty common. Most I know do it.

In my country this would actually be illegal. Poor thing doesn't even have a blanket
@cannedbats2 жыл бұрын
@@hils1691 it's to deter accidents. dogs don't like to pee where they sleep and a blanket hides their accidents, causing more peeing indoors and more mess. I agree that the crate could use some toys or such but also, my corgi will sooner fall asleep on my tile floor before his expensive dog bed, this dog is fine.
