Hey your video is amazing could you please tell me what question you get asked at job interview? Do you need any certificate?🥺🙏
@millymcleod18363 жыл бұрын
I think it's always a good idea to bring your resume along if you have any job interviews :) And maybe some certificates if they are relevant to the job! As for questions, they were conducted in English so they were pretty basic... They asked things about my previous work experience, my available hours, etc. Nothing too crazy! I've never had a job interview in Korea, however, so I'm not sure how different it might be... Hope this can help a little

Wait ... 2 girls walking to the train station at that time of the day alone? Is that normal? That would not be encouraged here in America.
@millymcleod18363 жыл бұрын
Yep, this is super normal, common, and safe in Korea! It was also a culture shock for me as I’m from the USA and would never do it there. However, it’s always good to still be alert and cautious anywhere you go (even in Korea lol)! 😊

What is your estimated salary there? I am planning to work at korea tooo
@millymcleod18363 жыл бұрын
Great question! I'm just a part-timer, so my salary is not a great reference... However, the average monthly income for Korean workers is around $2,500. From my experience, this is pretty standard for foreigners as well! However, if you have a more specialized degree or are multi-lingual, you could probably definitely get something higher paying. Hope this helps :)

Can you please if you have learned Korean English translation from any university or institute? Also how much and form where have you learned Korean language? Are you a native English speaker? I'm sorry for asking these many questions but I really really thank you for making such a great video. I wanted to be an Korean English translator and interpreter but it is so difficult to find someone from my area. Thank you so much for making such a great video.😊😁💖❤❤🥰🙏🙏

I major in business at a Korean University, but my university is international so I study in English. However, a lot of Korean universities do offer Korean-English translation majors! Especially international universities in Korea. I can speak Korean, but I’m not fluent. I just learned from taking some classes at university, teaching myself, and living in Korea for almost 5 years. However, if you want to be fluent in korean, I think it’s almost necessary to go to a Korean language academy for a few months (at least in my case). If you’re interested in living in Korea, there are visas available for studying at a Korean language academy! :) and I am a native English speaker! I hope some this information can be helpful and let me know if you’re curious about anything else 😊

I think if you feel prepared to move to Korea and you enjoy adventure you should definitely take the opportunity! However, it’s important to research a lot about life in Korea before making your final decision 😇 let me know if you need any help!

@@Haipaulina yes, I was already living in Korea! However, I have a student visa- not a working visa. 😊
@_s.h_9832 жыл бұрын
wait,when you study as a student in Korea, are you only allowed to not teach english in that specific time period that you are studying or does that also apply to when you’ve finished university and you are actually trying to pursue a career in english teaching ??
@millymcleod18362 жыл бұрын
Yes! I am a D-2 student visa holder so that is why I can’t teach English currently. If you’ve graduated (even in Korea), then you will no longer be eligible for the student visa and will need to apply for a new one. If you apply for an English teaching visa, you will certainly be able to teach English in Korea! Sorry if that was confusing :)

@millymcleod18363 жыл бұрын
I have lived in Korea for over 4 years, but unfortunately my Korean is still not great. :( However, I definitely think you need to at least know how to read/write Korean if you plan to stay long-term. Learning how to speak Korean conversationally and do everyday things like ordering food will also help your life a lot! But you don't need to be fluent~
