I love that you can relax with your hobby. I feel like I struggle relaxing because I don’t have a system down for keeping my house deep cleaned yet. And laundry gets the better of me. I’m working on setting up the fly lady method like you have done. And so whenever I sit down to draw with my tea…I still feel stressed because I know there’s more stuff I need to get done. Whereas…your home is so tidy and kept up with so I’m guessing you feel very peaceful when you take time for yourself. Would you say you feel peaceful during your time learning a hobby? I’m excited for that feeling. This year is for good habits for me.
@bayleymadeit2 жыл бұрын
Hi Abigail, I need to go back to the fly lady method. I’m a bit of an obsessive cleaner so if I don’t have a system I find I’m cleaning all the time. Having a system helps me slow down and enjoy other things. My hobbies definitely help me relax and step away from homemaker duties. 😊

Hello I'm new here from across the ditch 🇦🇺. I really enjoyed this video. I'm a happy homemaker also. My hubby works from home weekday evenings so I'm grateful we get to spend time together and I am love domestic duties. I almost cried when you said about not feeling guilty for taking some me time. I've felt that way for aged even though my hubby encourages me to take it. I made a decision after seeing your video to take the time. So this afternoon I had finished the housework and enjoyed my coffee with some crochet. I make my own eco friendly dishcloths and scrubbers and it was nice to do this for myself. Sending you best wishes 😊

I love your videos. !!! Tino reka tou kai, delishlish! Your knitting looks absolutely perfect! Now I want to start knitting in bed hehehe, seriously. My mum, a single mum, worked full time while my Nana (Grangparents) looked after me. In the early years when we still lived down the sounds (Arapawa Island) she would be away with my grandfather fishing for days up to a week then only home for a day or two. I seriously missed her. Then when we moved to Nelson she worked full time at the freezing works. When I was hapu with my first my hope if possible was to be a SAHM, put simply, I didn't want my babies missing me and me them. At times I felt judged for that. I loved being at home for them and best of all, being able to attend all their school activities, being there at the drop of a pin when and wherever they needed me. Such a blessing to have been in that position, as I know not everyone, ..like my mum is/was and my heart fills with love for them 100% xoxo. Bless you for being a guiltfree SAHM,. I watched Old World home the other day on YT and she said something like, "it's a privilege and blessing to have loved ones to cook and clean for" WOW! The poem is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing! I am going to write that down the poem in my book of positive aspects 🌺🌺🌺

Thanks for sharing your day 💜 Oh I meant to say about the car seat - maybe a women or children shelter might could use it?
@bearchild43522 жыл бұрын
Here in Canada we cannot donate or sell either. If you have anyone with a new baby you might be able to give it to them as they would know it’s come from somewhere where they can trust it has not been damaged or in an accident so is safe. I have a friend who travels “back home” and always asks around for any old car seats which she takes with her on a trip to donate there since in many places in the world there is not easy access to car seats. You might be able to ask on a moms group if anyone does something similar?
@jessicabulloch53022 жыл бұрын
Hi Bailey. Regarding the carseat, In America we have mother baby shelters and free baby gear stores. We also put things outside our homes with a free sign. Or drop it by churches who take items to help others. I'm not sure if any of these ideas work for you in New Zealand.

Loved this. I always felt guilty as well. Hubby said I'm a salary employee (🤣) so even if all my work is done, I'm still on the clock 24/7. So, I feel better about taking some down time during the day or going to bed early and reading or goodness, actually going to sleep early. 😴 Enjoyed seeing what you got up to. I crochet but have never attempted knitting. I also love embroidery. Right now I am trying to turn this brown thumb into a green one with some gardening. Hugs, sweet girl. Thanks for sharing. It's always a treat to watch your lovely productions.

Do you have Facebook Marketplace in New Zealand? You could (probably) list the car seat as free there, and provide all of the relevant information: make and model, accident-free, the expiration date, etc. Thanks for sharing your videos and your views on motherhood and homemaking. I'm a homeschooling mom, so my house is never quiet if the kids are awake. Educating my kids is obviously the priority, and I struggle to find the balance between getting chores done around the house and relaxing enough to enjoy it all. I started using your system of earning screen-time for my kids, and that has really helped everything go more smoothly. Thanks for that tip!

If the seat isnt expired then offer it on a local free page. I have a couple sitting in our that need to go out but there are past their expiry so its recycling or the dump ☹.

Hi Bayley , the knitting is turning out well , you seem to do your knitting projects in colder months & sewing projects in warmer months just an observation. Did your sister ever knit you another pair of slippers? I think coffee cat needs a mate. That cheese sandwich looked delicious I will try that recipe out thanks for sharing. I too also use to leave the house early to collect my daughter on the school run but I had to walk as don’t drive. I needed that hour out of the house. Did you ever join any fitness clubs or do you ever get a chance to socialise with any other school Mums? I think your a home body like me, I think a coffee & cake morning would be nice for you with another Mommy. Or a knitting club but I guess there’s time for that later when the boys are a-bit more independent. Sorry I not managed to send postcard off from Uk 🇬🇧 I’ve had in in for ages I will post it this weekend. Take care great video xx

Hi Marylyn, yes I think you are right about my crafts being seasonal. I am going to try and sew a couple of things before summer arrives this year! My sister repaired my slippers but then I had worn holes in them again after a couple of weeks. She is busy with other projects but I think she is going to experiment with making them with leather soles. I socialise with other mums at the park each day if the weather is fine but I am definitely a home body so its good that the school routine forces me out of the house 😅. I look forward to receiving your postcard 😊xx
