Day in the life of a locksmith, it's not always plain sailing when picking a lock 🤯

Just helped a fellow locksmith who had trouble opening some Yale platinum euro cylinders because of the builder 🤦‍♂️. Turns out, even we need rescuing sometimes! 😅 That Yale platinum lock gave me a real run for my money 💰. Glad I finally got it open though 💪. What I do when manually picking them is have a thin bit of stiff wire in the lock at the start.. have it bent in a way it's "easy" to push into the back of the lock with the same hand you hold the tension tool with, it can be very fiddly but ive found if you keep it pushed in to engage the cam until you get a nice false set, you can then let go of the wire and the false set is enough to keep the cam held and you can finish picking the lock. Works with some old ABS at least, been a while since I had to pick one.

Ya, picking by hand can be a nightmare sometimes with the cam. You can see on my other video I opened the other one in quite a good time 👍

Nice one again, have you tried your epg with a law locks flat needle? I tried but not much luck. I using the huk set as well. You a tad more patient than me 😂 great to see the easy and hard ones, not 2 minutes and you’re in. Hand is looking ok any pain?

The hand is much better than before, it will never be 100% but it's good enough for now 👍

What tool you using to pick up the cam. Any tips would be appreciated

@bananagirl5118 It was the little jiggler that comes with the HUK set that ALS tools sell

Once the core is picked you can use the end of a tension wrench or pick to push the actuator back and engage the cam on a double-ended Euro.
