As an LPN, I am have been through the same. I am always being asked when am I going back for my RN as of being an LPN is not good enough. Chilllle, I just keep it moving. No comments needed.. LPN stands for License Practical NURSE or Lit Proud Nurse whatever suits you. I let no one take away the hard work I put into become one.

I’ve been an LPN for almost 13 years now and I swear that most RNs #1 question is always “So what can you do?” It infuriates me so much when I hear that! It’s like, I’m a damn nurse, just like you. I also work in the hospital setting in the ER and on another unit. The only thing different between the RNs and LPNs in my hospital is the LPNs aren’t allowed to do admission or intake assessments or hang blood. That’s it! We literally do everything else the RNs do. I mean, I even give IV push meds, monitor pts on critical gtts, draw labs, you name it. I am actually in school to finish my RN now, but I’ll always be an LPN at heart and always advocate for LPNs, because we don’t get the credit we deserve for all that we do!

Exactly…. I would’ve told her I can do pretty much what you can for a few exceptions. But I’m pretty sure they are tested on that. Lpns are tested on delegation to the UAP

You looking so fine. As an ICU RN I've never worked with an LVN/LPN. But I'd look up what they can do instead of trying to check someone at the omnicell. Rude A$$ Karen was ego tripping. LPNs are nurses. She needs to show respect.

You should have said, “Well now you do, and why don’t you go talk with the Unit director about what I can and can’t do since they hired me…” and walked off on her ass! Girl stop! I’m facing the same issue. I’m a new grad LPN in the ER and they always want to try it!! But my preceptor is an old ICU nurse and she DONT PLAY about me!!!! So that matched with my attitude! They quickly found out, I’m not the one! My skills, determination, and work ethic are unmatched! And they hate it!!! Be confident in your degree, license, and ability, and I will too! These patients need all of us! The time you spend worrying about what I can or can’t do, you can spend it on taking care of your patient and time mgmt.

Like how u handle super Karen!!! Some RN just try to hard to be little LPN and CNA I see it all the time!! I tell them I here for the patients and my coins so fall back!!!!

a RN said out her own mouth before that she doesn't understand how LPNs are allowed to work this acute care unit and do the same thing she is doing and she spent 4 years getting her BSN. like sisssss, why you so pressed? we all have mouths to feed like it shouldnt even matter, we are both nurses!

Bruhhh as an ℝℕ i still would’ve be like okayyy sis what the problem 😂 girl credentials don’t change the problems cause ppl love saying oh you the tech . Yes honey remember that when you need a second witness for something 😂🤣 but the knowledge on delegation is a big problem for ppl ! We are all nurses the route don’t matter idk why ppl do that

Wow! I hate when an RN asks if we are so insignificant! You did great because I don’t know what I would have said but it would not have been nice but I’m proud of you! They covered LPNs for a hot second when I was in school. But my teachers mentioned LPN roles will be on the NCLEX in some way so I made sure i knew for myself. in 2016 they were phasing LPNs out in hospitals in my area. the choices were to go to nursing home type facility or get their RN paid by the Hospital . Im glad to see that y'all are getting to come back in my area...Karen had no excuse tho you were there all night and google is free lol

I’m a LPN and I’ve worked with plenty of RNs and most know what I can do and delegate just fine but there are some travel RNs I’ve worked with and they’re just not used to seeing LPNs in the hospital and not used to seeing them with a team of patients and they would ask me what I could do and I could tell they were honestly curious having never worked with a LPN before and I would tell them oh I can take patients give meds, push meds, insert IVs bla bla basically saying I am my patients nurse lol and they never bothered me with it and they respected me and we worked fine. I’ve only had one RN be like well I’m just not used to this and I was just minding my business doing my own thing like well you need to get used to it and get out my face lol 🤷🏾‍♀️😂
