So is that guy that best helper this side of the pipe? I know he was the only one. That might have alot to do with it. I never thought I'd like it, but I'm sorta glad to be welding in a shop on them weather days. Less money but less hassle. What kind of welding jacket you use?

Awesome video Austin and I was wondering when you are filming on the ROW and in the ditch, is the company your working with ok you doing that because some places I go to won’t allow any pictures or any filming.

So a question towards your helpers. Are able to bring your own helper everywhere or is it presented at each job from the union.

If you contract hire in, you can bring your own, but if you dispatch in, they have one for you.

Austin those Tom water frames and or glasses if so how you like them and how do they work in comfort with your pan cake hood
@arosswelding5 жыл бұрын
Yes, they’re Tom waters. I like them. They are made to fit under the pancake hood. I think they have 3 or 4 different sizes, I got the smallest diameter.

How did you start off your welding career? Were you ever a helper?
@arosswelding5 жыл бұрын
Never was a helper, wish I would have been though. I went to a votech in high school for welding then worked at a shop for 3 years after high school then started pipelinin.
@josephsalas61015 жыл бұрын
Austin Ross another question that I got, how do you start off when you pipeline? Like how do you pay for a rig and all that

How do u get ur welder down in the ditch? Do u leave ur welder on the jobsite till the job is done?
@arosswelding5 жыл бұрын
The equipment moves our sled around. We don’t actually put the machines in the ditch, they stay on the bank and we just roll out leads out to the weld.
@rafatrill5 жыл бұрын
@@arosswelding u should start showing that part in ur videos
@dannyharvey56235 жыл бұрын
When you’re welding off of skid do you set your machine off truck on it?
@arosswelding5 жыл бұрын
We did here yes, just depends on the company you are working for. A lot of times they will have company machines on the sled, that way we can still have our personal machines on our trucks in case we need to go weld somewhere else for the day.
