A trademark to a solid unit is being able to function without key leaders. This is something I had to constantly remind myself and emphasize to my subordinates. You guys are doing amazing work, and I'm empathetic of you guys executing Team level exercise with a mask on. It adds a new level of suck when you really get going and you start breathing thru your mouth.

Great training. I am not criticizing but offering some observations. As a Marine Corps veteran, NCO and squad leader, one of my mentors instill in me a good sense of what leadership is. You obviously care about your men and their training, however, don't think your men don't notice their NCOs, Plt Sgt and Plt Cmdr (i'm not sure who everyone was in the video as it relates to command structure) walking around the training area not wearing their gear or proper PPE, or when debriefing not using proper terminology and profanity. The Marine Corps has its problems, but they were a stickler for small things like hands in your pockets, or wearing the proper gear and wearing it correctly for a reason. Small failures in discipline during training will reveal major short comings when it comes to the real thing. Good job.

I was an Army Infantry NCO and the Buck SGT with his hands in his pockets and Red Bull in his ammo pouch was grinding my gears too. Didn't look, or act professionally. "No one is more professional than I." Learn it, live it, love it.

Sir, I also plan on commissioning as an MP officer. I’m currently in ROTC, how was your experience as an MP. What can I study now?
@DavionWest8 ай бұрын
My experience was great, but that’s because I had great Soldiers and leaders around me. Your career in the Army will be what you make of it. For study, do you mean to prepare for being an MP or? Also being an MP you learn how to balance being Law Enforcement and field MPs. The MP branch is changing right now and I’m not sure what it will look like in the future. For example fort polk (Johnson ) they are retiring the BN and I believe it’ll be only an LE detachment. MPs on a lot of bases are t working the gate as much, it’s a mix between civilian and MPs.

If you join as an officer do you become a team leader or what because in my country if you join as an officer you come out as a Lt or second Lt and you become a team leader and that’s why our training is 15 months long
@tannergustin56844 жыл бұрын
A 2nd Lt. will either be put on staff or become a platoon leader. All LTs will have a crack at platoon leader, and all will end up on staff eventually. This Lt is currently enjoying his PL time, which is generally considered your best time as a junior officer.

Everyone should be wearing issue equipment during training. The current gear is good. Much better than IBA or Ranger Vests of the early 2000s, the LBV, and those dang flap holsters! And, what others have said, NCOs need to watch their mouth....it's just like dealing with toddlers, seriously....the troops will do it as well when they become leaders, and some units won't put up with it.
