Very informative . Thank you! A seemingly nothing video, with great gravitas for those of us looking to sleep well at night. Gratis! nothing is truly trivial in actuality. all that is missing is an ability to perceive those infinitesimal parts that make a whole. Detail is the picture. Thank you!

interesting video, bit short on detail ie was the vapouriser plate re leveled, leveling screws lubed up with anti sieze etc and was that louvre vent at the bottom of the flue / top of the Aga cleaned out - it looked badly fluffed up.
@jasonoliver95494 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same, was hot plate lifted and flueways cleaned. Carbon elbow replaced ect. Great pics though. I assume he never showed to much detail to stop others not experience trying it. They not as easy as it looks

@@jasonoliver9549 This was just filmed as a "overview" for the guys that had not seen one before, between doing the service work proper. Rest assured a thorough service job was done and Henry hoover, a 2 way spirit level and a smoke bomb, were all deployed..... ;-) I purposely won't put anything on a public platform that might show a DIYer what to do and you are right with that assumption. BTW: No carbon ellbow on this one ! it's on a more modern deepwell base as a casting inclusion was found in the original shallow DON base, that could have given rise to a nasty vapour leak and they never end well. :-( Take Care.

Be interesting to see an old Hotspur Wallflame oil boiler. Not seen one for many years. Totally different from any pressure jet burner. Very quiet running. We once replaced one in Janitor’s house, with a half cased oil boiler. The guy throw away his alarm clock , as the difference in running noise was huge. Woke him very morning! And that was meant to be progress! Aga. Keep it level. And don’t mess with the carb!!!

Hi Allen, nice video :) on our age we have a spin wheel valve that sits on a staggered pipe that points towards the carburettor. What is this valve for? I believe it says Kingsman with and arrow that points to the front of the aga, but we can’t seem to fathom what this valve does. It’s unclear whether it raises something or lowers something, but either way we can’t seem to get fuel to the aga.

Hi Allen, great video! We are in the process of moving into a home with a 1960s oil boiler and wondered if you had a contact for Joules who made the video. Thank you so much 👍🏻

Hi Allen, pipework behind an oil stove from valve to regulator, behind stove theres a filter and a regulator, with copper compression fittings in awful tight area, but kerosene leak from one of joints, joints seem to be red paste , Question is, Can one Tighten compression fittings with paste already set in these old connection. Thanks

Tank ran out of oil so the following day I had to relight the burner but first took it out and cleaned and replaced the wicks. Levelled it really well and then lit it. Serious fumes coming from the cooker now. Have to open windows. What’s the reason for the fumes? Never done it before?

Pre soak new wicks in the fuel you caught in a tub when you changed the filter, helps no end in the flame jumping across to the inner. ;-)

If you live in a massive house with 2 40kw boilers as well its all relative and the amount of oil that a Aga consumes compared to running the heating is probably a drop in the ocean or oil field!...... ;-)
@davyg12363 жыл бұрын
When oils up in price about £70 a week, it's cheap just now but that's a realistic cost, Rayburn's worse bigger burner.

It's in the wrong hands here, you light it on outer ring and inner ring lights spontaneously at flashover when hot enough, it's not an ashtray for matches 😂
