I was a postie for 28 years,took vr in March,am so glad to be out of it! Used to love the job but unfortunately it has been ruined by people who think they know what they are doing!! If posties were left alone to get on with their jobs,it would still be ok,good luck buddy

The thumbnail sums up my experience of the last few years; stillness. Lucky to get anything more than fortnightly, with a couldn't give a s**t attitude from the local sorting office plus the backing from Head Office. Christmas cards arriving late January into February and missed hospital appointments.

Being made redundant and fancied becoming a postman. Noticed (in my area at least) that the contracts are around 25 hours per week. Say if I wanted to do 35-40 hours per week is there constant overtime? Also can you do that overtime on the start/end of your normal working days or do you basically have to do 7 day weeks to make that time? Great video.

@@snakeblanketillusion3539 i know i work in norfolk, my friend i am martial artist too, from yor othe channel, though now , i am disabled due to job now work indoors, , they would love to get rid of me, but i am a fighter still, and lol, and i am trying to protect everyone's right to continue working instead of being forced out, the union has helped me no end, but i am not stupid,,, and i know the system, too many guys been forced to go by bullying tactics, as you know, lol i had strong case against them for years, they only just escaped the biggest case in history, by offering me part time position, so held out until my pension , then. Said yes. I will do part time position,, now they in worse trouble , because i still got biggest csse if they try and get rid of me again, they dealing with direct and indirect discrimination,, failure of duty of care. Criminal, gross negligence, continued harassment, victimisation,, , and damages to my condition plus mental health harm,, plus much much more, lol , i intend to still continue to protect everyone,, my union rep and me are. A force to be reckoned with, the solicitor i saw years wanted my case, if they dismissed me. This particular one has never lost a case against them, big city firm, they know they are treading on eggshells, with me, plus they could get done in criminal court, the D, W, P, are well aware, , as i say biggest case in history, the last biggest case was bank forced fined, about 4,7 million, but though i am broke, all the time, its not about the money, its about the principles, all i want is to provide and continue working for my family, so they got big problem in trying to bully me. Plus i can call into play other things to protect me, but i am trying my best to protect everyone, . I happen to know that bullying in past as cost lives of employees and their families too, destroyed, so i continue to fight. I was told by very gifted friend long ago, its the reason i am disabled, to fight for justice for others, she said the picked on the right man, not the wrong man, incidentally, m6 grades i hold are two brown belts one green belt, it does not mean a thing as bruce lee once said belts are good to hold. Trousers up, but to give you some idea of my training from years ago, it covers from when i was 18. To now really but i was involved with many styles, shotokan,, gojuryu , wadaryu, taikido like taikwodo, from it, but much more. And judo, then instructor with young guy who fought for england,, in his own style called east coast close combat under . , ju jitsu. umbrella, plus i had other little experience too of other styles like isshinryu , so i had different backgrounds of fighting so was assistant instructor, and my son was assistant instructor too because he had my training plus wing chun plus boxing which ihe is light. Heavyweight champion in east anglia, and he has now his own gym plus still trains other fighters and is involved with mma too, and my daughter is good too, ,, they both been saved from harm and myself too, over the years, my legs are shit now, but i can still use my hands,, one guy at work who still trains, said to me show me something,, so i said ok, , i want you to attack me with anything you like, don't forget i am disabled, i said to him i will not block you , , i will not strike you, i will not trip you, but i will touch you with one finger,, and i will divert your blows your strikes, , this you will not see in the dojo, ever,, and. I will not harm you.. , anyway he came at me,, i did what i said, diverted his strikes and touched him in one spot. Stopping him,, two weeks later he came up to me and said whatever you did i can still feel it, like your finger is still there,,, what did you do. I told him its not taught in clubs, far too dangerous, i do not know of any dojo that teaches it, , but teachers, sensei can show different students, if they consider them responsible enough, because otherwise he would have been gone out on floor., no more,,, , , he loved it., but i said its only because he is high enough grade, but only to be used in dire circumstances,, not in clubs dojos etc,, it requires knowing about energies, , too, i could tell you many true stories,,, , about that, as well energies,, take care my fellow martial artist,, this is what i believe happened to bruce lee, its very real, dim mak , ,,,,,,,,,, and i have met many chinese , martial artists, and i have seen met shoalin monks, too my instructor in east coast close combat, was taught by one extraordinary, , he used to call out 30 men from pub, and only walk back in himself,, lol.. Oh many true very true stories to tell,, one of best is, kung fu man came to karate tournament, , , went in arena, stood there, just kiaed, that's all, walked up to his opponent, lightly roundhouse kicked him in head,, the man could not move, of course he lost,,, kung fu guy smiled walked out,, yet he won fight ippon , with that kick,, so funny, yes its true. I was there, and i felt the force of his kai,, i was in. Direct line on table,, made me wobble from about 50 ft away,,, at least, never forgot it, then i learnt more about energies,, the healing and destruction which can be done,, , when i used to block in basic kumite i used to break blood vessels in feet in legs, or not touch , just pull short of striking, but opponents used to show me their bodies , i was leaving them literally black and blue without touching them so I stopped for about 3 years, did not want to hurt others at all.. Many many true, stories my friend, .

Can you decide if you want to use the trolley & walk along the street or if you you’d rather use a van to do your drop? Do you have a choice or does it depend solely on the route you’re on.
@10aDowningStreet
@10aDowningStreet Жыл бұрын
Nope, you do what they tell you. As a new starter you won't have your own round, you'll likely be working all around your area, sometimes sent to other parts of the city. Even known people to get sent to another town. You have a workload thats usually impossible to complete by design. You'll be pressured to stay out as long as it takes to finish it, even when dark - which is not fun. Vans are usually shared, so 2 of you work together- again not always fun. The odd round is easy but most are brutally hard. Most people in my office don't get breaks, urinate in bottles, don't get time to eat or drink. It's an awful job these days in most places. Bullying and harassment is fairly rife where I've worked but never had much issue with it myself.

How would you say you feel about your job for real? Do you like what you do or wish you were elsewhere? I've worked in customer service/office admin jobs for years now and I'm tired of it, often look at my postie's and wonder what the job's like. Thanks ... appreciate your kind words ... in 30 years i have had the pleasure of being attacked by uncaring ignorant dog owners about 20 times ... and that's being super careful ... but there"s nothing you can do to stop complete idiots from owning a dog : )
