No more talking abt past glories since I retired 12 yrs ago. Used to fly Business Class when working now Coach Class for holidays. Those were the days - Be contented !!

Thanks a million IXAC ! Mine is only 2 bedded 860 sq ft * 80 m2. Half price here in the North vs Caribbean @ keppelbay in the South where my retired friends are living. MOnthly maintenance 40 % lower here. Orchard Rd area u need to multiply price by 3 or 4 times.

Haha. Tough to be a retiree ! I SURVIVED 45 yrs with European Chemicals Companies. Prior to that I worked 1 year as a Trainee Hull Fitter in Jurong Shipyard ( owned by IHI of Japan ). Singapore was in a recession in those days.

You don’t need a Mercedes Benz to get around, you don’t need a grand piano to enjoy music, a condo to enjoy gardening or expensive shoes to enjoy NParks.. etc I agree you must be at least somewhat be healthy and have some money.

90% of singaporeans cannot retire like him . 80% of singaporean may not have more than 1 million dollars in their bank. You should interview people from 3 ,4 or 5 rm flats. You have interviewed the wrong man. Why don't you interview taxi & grab & bus drivers , pump attendants, mechanics, office workers ,forklift operators. Tell the true story of real singaporean but not from this super lucky man. If this man was a bus driver , do you think he wants to be interviewed ? Get real brother ,To have a good life plenty of money is needed & you will smile everyday and at everyone.

This man Jimmy whom I discover his singing esp d style of Satchmo or Louis Armstrong that I invited him to perform for my Band Silver Strings 55th Anniversary Concert held on 29th Nov 2019.We then becomes friend n he share with me his Globe trotting to 100 countries n show me some videos for me to comment n advice. He is very humble though rich but kept a low profile n I was surprised that he was very knowlegable about food, street esp his area Killiney Rd where I supply a band to Shindig Niteclub in d 70s n myself I performed with my band Silver Strings at Hotel Malaysia (MarcoPolo) Tropicana, n Wisma Indonesia etc during d 60s.Jimmy is a walking encylopedia Congrats

This was my first direct encounter with Ghib Ojisan’s video & it was all impromptu with a call from my friend Jimmy last Sat when he asked me where I was. So he headed down over to Constant Wind Seasports Centre where I was having a drink with a friend. I met Ghib for the first time & volunteered to show him around the place where I windsurf regularly & offered to buy a round of drinks at Stella, the beach bistro. Michael Boon the owner of Stella happened to be around & he joined us too - drinks were finally on him as he refused to let us pay. It was amazing to see how Ghib was able to singlehandedly do all the shooting - including turning his camera around to do his occasional selfie shots - with the “script” in his mind & eventually edited & posted a video as though it was all pre-planned & orchestrated. I was told by Jimmy that he’s a very successful one-man show KZbinr with a good following of viewers both in Spore & Japan. Must be his creative talent though his easy-going down-to-earth style must surely feature in his success.

Yes, Jimmy had worked his way up the corp ladder just like 1 of my friends who was an MD before he retired about 40 yrs ago. He bought 2 landed properties when prices were relatively cheap during that time & now his properties are worth millions & he can retired in style. These are the people who planned well ahead instead of gambling away their hard-earned money like some of the people in Singapore.
