What do you do as the only marketing manager?

@@mrsmarshmallow15 well, basically everything. From creating marketing materials for the CEO such as investor decks and such to running the SM. I also handle our blog on the website and I'm in contact with our advisor board as well as our customers. If for example, we have to implement a new part of our business, I have to figure a way to market it and to design it. It's really complex and it will take me more than this paragraph to write everything.

I just had a question! I have been wanting to do marketing as my major and I came across international marketing which was a even better option for me, so I was wondering could I get a degree in business administration and still find a career path in international Marketing in the future? Or would I have to major in international marketing/ business.

I don't think you need to major in marketing to work in the industry! It's definitely more about your experience (internships etc.) down the road! I think a business administration education path could still lead you into marketing as long as you try to do some learning on your own to build skills for marketing!

I'm studying marketing now and I have to take accounting classes. Do you actually need those in the field?

As someone who works in marketing my answer to this would be, it depends. Very often companies get caught up in the fluffy pretty side of marketing and forget that the numbers play a very big role in the success of your campaigns. By taking those account classes it will later help you establish accurate KPIs for your campaigns and you’ll be better at analyzing and interpreting the success of your campaigns. Conversely, if you’re in a marketing role where your Jon is strictly focused on the creative elements of marketing, then no, accounting will not be used much. Also, if you decide to work for yourself, those accounting classes will be worth it. Keep going, you got this. Don’t let a few classes stop you from finishing your desired degree. 💪❤️

HelloAngel, really nice video! I enjoy it a lot. I have a question about this field. I have a bachelor in Cinema Studies, because i love to produce and edit video content. Recently, i discovered the world of marketing and i finished the free digital marketing course from google. My interest in marketing got bigger. Can i work in marketing like you and is my bachelor usefull in this field (i´m thinking of doing an master´s in marketing and a post-graduate in digital marketing) ? A lot of companies ask for a bachelor (minimum) in marketing or communication, and cinema is a form of communication (video and writting). Should i do a bachelor in marketing? I´m 25 yers old.

I don’t think a bachelors is necessary! My company required a bachelors as well but I have a diploma. I do recommend taking maybe some more courses or just finding some internships to get started. Experience and good work ethic trumps schooling in my opinion

What kind of KPIs do you track for marketing? What’s your most important KPI?

I think traffic and conversion to trial is definitely the biggest for me. then breaking down into specific page analytics and then seeing what content is performing the best. Then there’s a lot of “supporting” kpis that help give me more information like time on page, bounce rate etc.
