3mths of working as a Sys admin it’s the best job I’ve ever had. Pay is triple the amount. 3 more months I’ll be looking to be a Linux administrator strictly.

This is the position I'm trying to strive for. I'm 26. I am finishing my BS with the ITL, A+, Net+, and Sec+. While working on home labs on the side, I wonder what other skills I should work on to land a sys admin role. Thanks

Hi Henok! Currently, I am attending a Python bootcamp, and once I complete it, my intention is to dedicate a significant amount of time to studying in order to pursue a career as a system administrator or network administrator. These two roles are my dream job. I would be just fine to literally spend years studying to get any kind of role in either field. My only concern is, is it still worth it due to the rise of AI? I would be very grateful for your opinion Henok. Have a nice day!

Jonas, it's amazing that you're dedicating so much time and effort to pursuing this field, I'm sure it will pay off. I hope to make a video on AI soon but for now, my opinion regarding AI is that it's important to stay educated and aware of what's new and upcoming with AI but I don't think it will outright replace sysadmin jobs.

Your company must be using your own version of Jira locally. We use Jira cloud and I never see the things you do. It seems like you're coding changes in a terminal (maybe I'm wrong). Jira can be a pain, but I've learned to like it. We switched from Helpscout to Jira.
