A few ways that may help you if you want to become a airline pilot. 1.join the air cadets. It's a millitary organisation but if you join it Dosent mean you have to be in the RAF or the USAF. Flying is free (well you have to pay subs but yeah) and paying £12 a month (that's the price on my squadron) is a lot cheaper than £60+ per lesson if you buy it. You will get a feeling for flying and know how to fly small aircraft. 2.do your research, If you learn how different parts of a plane works will help you in your writing tests. Personally I want to be a thyphoon pilot in the RAF ( i would be a a-10 pilot of I was American but :P ) 3.take every opportunity, if you have a opportunity to go into the cockpit of a plane, do it. Hope this helps Oh and do well in school

If your inbound aircraft is late, how do you manage to complete a proper preflight, cockpit set up and briefing, as well as clean the cabin and cross seatbelts before departaure? Do you check destination weather and alternate weather before or after cleaning out the seat back pockets?

APU is a smal turbine (not 4 thrust) torque (rotation) it provides electrical power & air for engine start & airconditioning w the air packs. It's auxiliary when engines aren't running but the pilot will keep it on just for emergency on take off or landing. Airplanes also have the RAT (ram air turbine) is a propeller type, it provides hydraulic power if lost on the engines hydr. pumps it will help deploy the landing gear & move essential flight controls. It's always stowed so u won't see it.

Reading some of the comments on here, it's pretty disappointing to hear such sexist remarks; if someone is qualified to do a job, they can do that job. A girl can be either a good or bad pilot, same as us guys. My instructor up till the end of private licence training was a beautiful 24 year old girl who was one of the best instructors I've ever had. It's 20fucking14 now people, if you can't accept that everyone deserves an equal chance then we don't need you up there.

I've loved commercial aviation since before I could read and write. Pilot was what I always knew I would be but the life in the airlines continues to deteriorate and I feel that pursuing aviation will not allow me to make an impact on my community or achieve happiness. But I'll always love aviation, I'm just reluctant to go for a career in aviation. But hey, if a unique opportunity reveals itself to me then maybe I'll go for it. But the traditional route is not enticing.
@robertkurt213 жыл бұрын
@aroundtheclock I see. Well I can tell you as a former Airport Authority employee who used to clear snow off of and inspect runways, taxiways and aprons, Westjet is superior to AC. Their pilots and ground crew are friendly as well as appreciative of the work we would do. Plus Westjet treats their employees and customers far superior than AC does. I don't know much about Porter so I can't comment. But in the end You gotta do what works for you.

Nope, as long as your vision can be corrected to 20/20 with corrective lenses or Lasek Eye Surgery, you can acquire your Class 1 medical certificate. Only if you cannot acquire 20/20 vision with any sort of correction you may not fly. It's not a deal breaker to wear glasses but in some countries it still is. In Canada and the United States as long as it can be corrected, you're good but I'm not quite sure about the military. They still may have the restriction though in the military...

Dream yes, but in one of the most crowded countries in Europe with even more crowded skies flying is €500+ per hour(for small stuff, bigger is more expensive). And then you need someone to instruct you, not a bargain either. A full license for the big stuff with passengers is €450.000 and climbing(as gasprices increase). Even if you sell your apartment you can't manage that here. I only fly a microlite and even that requires a mass amount of paperworks and thousands.

If it's because you don't know how to start, go to a college like Central Washington University that has a bond with a nearby airfields for their commercial piloting degree. And if it's that you can't find a job then you should go to different countries that have other airlines to choose from.
