Hi. You'll be arriving very close to the winter season and on peak surf season. Be mindfull that waves and swell are pretty agresivwle then. That late fall is usually pretty cloudy and gloomy, so outdoor activities won't be so comendable. Be sure to plan your trip well so you can make the most of the portuguese experience

How did you find making friends there?? So far every time i move to a new place for a few months i manage to find friends decently easily, but I’ve only been in Latin American countries and i think the vibe might be a bit different than Europe. Also I usually work in hostels so its easy, but this time im thinking of getting my own space or a coliving space. Was it difficult and do you have any pointers or events you recommend?

I found it very easy. I lived at a co-living space and joined a church. Those two things allowed me to make friendships that I still have to this day!

Portugal culture is similar to the US and other EU countries, heavily individualistic in general (certain area may not). You can be surrounded by many people but you may still like living alone...South East Asia countries including Indonesia/Bali have collectivist cultures, you feel like you live in societies and you are part of these societies that make you do not feel like living alone.

Portugal is by far the most boring country I’ve been to in Europe. It’s cheap but not worth, in my opinion. Paris, Nice or the amalfi coast for me.
