day in the life of an MIT physics student

How you get into MIT ?? Was it because you won breakthrough junior challenge?

There were Breakthrough Junior Challenge (BJC) winners who got admitted into MIT but there were BJC winners too who applied to MIT and were not accepted.

How did they get selected??any criteria?

@@daniyac300 There is an application process to get to MIT (where SAT score, high school performance, etc. play a crucial role on whether you will be qualified or not). Such information can probably be found in their website, just like how it works in many other universities. Hillary passed the admission standards in MIT as well as in other prestigious universities abroad and in the Philippines (she eventually chose MIT). Furthermore, it just so happened that Hillary won in the Breakthrough Junior Challenge (BJC) that's why she was able to afford MIT through a scholarship money which was her prize for winning. Now, what Symphonics Co is saying is that you can be a BJC winner with that same scholarship prize as Hillary's but still not get accepted in MIT simply because you did not qualify in MIT. The prize in winning the BJC is not an instant admission to MIT, but a scholarship prize money that the winner can use to afford those high-end and prestigious universities where they have passed. MIT does not select its students from a pool of BJC winners, but rather, you can use your BJC win as an added leverage to get to MIT and any other universities for that matter.
