I am going on 32 years as a nurse. I have never regretted becoming a nurse and still love it today. I am no longer doing clinical nursing but am a nurse educator. I wish you much success and joy and satisfaction in this career. Many blessings to you. My specialty is nephrology/dialysis, so if you ever need anything related to these, just let me know, I will be happy to help!

@@rawabi7314 I am not aware of any on-line programs. For most programs you can probably see about doing some of the general education courses required for the program but ultimately when you get into the nursing program you will be required to do in person clinical courses. If you choose the program you want you should check with them on what pre-requisites are required and if any on-line courses will transfer toward your major. I suggest working with an advisor from the college. I also recommend an accredited bachelor of science in nursing college.

You’re so right, not a lot of perspectives from a male nursing student! Amazing yo!! Been a male nurse for almost 10 years and finished NP school last year! You can do it man, you got this!!! ❤👏

This reminded me of my own days in my nursing program also in NYC. Unfortunately I was dismissed from the program due to failing two classes on the same semester. These were moments I really appreciated, just talking to friends about how bad we did on exams, and just coping together, going to clinical together, talk about some interesting cases. I had a patient one time, old man, super sweet, sometime ago he told me "I would want you to be my nurse, you have the most calm and happy atmosphere ever and you always had time to sit and talk to me, and it shows you're here to listen to us" and I was so unsure at the time, and he replied "even if you dont come out as a nurse, just being a part of a medical team who helps old people like us, really make a true difference. I get it, being a nurse or doctor is hard, amy job is difficult. But as long as you come out learning something, you know you're in the right path" and it was truly a moment to wake up to. Currently I'm just finishing a regular science degree so I can quickly graduate and pursue the next best interest for me which was X-ray programs and being a radiational therapist. Hearing you talk about moving from profession to profession, and finally settling with something that you enjoy, makes me feel passionate and to just not give up, cause there is that one thing for everyone, it just takes time and care.

I was also dismissed from my nursing program for the same reason a few year ago. I know I still want to be in the medical field but I am still in the process of deciding the best area for me. A part of me wants to do nursing again but I just been a bit scared to start again.

1:37 So relatable LOL I’m in my last semester of nursing school, graduating in May, and it’s been the hardest thing i’ve ever done. Moving to a whole new state and being away from family has been tough but I can truly say it went by so fast! I love watching other people’s journey and honestly this video is inspiring me to just vlog/record the rest of my last sem haha But from a fellow nursing student, you’re doing great! We got it and we’ll get where we need to be! All the studying and sleepless night will be so worth it! Good luck on the rest of your journey! ☺️

Hi! I'm in my third semester of nursing school right now, and for some reasons I've been struggling--probably the most struggle I've been in terms of school. I think the contents are not that bad to learn but the tests can be hard. Also, clinical schedules just throw me off. (Don't get me wrong, I enjoy clinicals--lots of things to learn.) We have clinical on Tuesday/Wednesday and a full day of school and test on Thursdays/Fridays. However, I know I can make it through! I'm trying my best right now half-way the semester to pull my grades up! Good luck to you and all nursing students out there whether you're doing undergraduate or graduate studies! We got this!

I always find this interesting to see nurses and doctors going around the city in their scrubs lol, I'm a med student in France and we don't do that. We usually take our scrubs in the hospital itself and at the end of the day, have it cleaned by the service there, or if it's just the coat then we put it in our bags or whatever but never go away from the hospital with them on. I just found that interesting

Will have been a nurse for 2 years coming this summer. School was rough/hard... it makes you question if you are smart at all haha. Then you become a nurse and are like, did I learn anything? But real life nursing is really so different then school which is funny. However, I am super thankful for what it did prepare me for. They say passing NCLEX means you have 2 weeks of experience. GRACE is the biggest thing you can learn. My ultimate saving grace back then was recording lectures and relistening druing transportation to classes, meal-preaping and listening to podcasts while cleaning, and creating a healthy lifestyle of sleep cycle and PRAYERS!!! Seriously, bible study and praying with long phone calls to my mom helped.

I’m doing all my pre reqs as I’m doing my AT program since I’m just 18 and then apply for UW nursing as a junior and graduate with a BSN. Im passionate about the anesthesia route and I learned that you can get your CRNA after getting a BSN and working at an ICU for atleast a year before applying to a CRNA school. So, if you ever want to do something else other than a PA, CRNA is the best route to go to and you can move up to an anesthesiologist if you ever want to

We both took a pretty similar path. I entered undergrad in 2017 with the thought that I'd be a doctor. I did well in Bio and Chem, but OChem BEAT MY ASS so I switched my major to Health Science and I never looked back. Like you, I considered PT but I'm pretty small (barely 100 lbs), considered PA but left for the same reasons you did, then I found nursing. I love it SO much. I started my ABSN program at NYU Fall 2021. I just passed my NCLEX at the beginning of this month and was hired for a nursing job A WEEK after. I love the flexibility that nursing has and the many different fields you can go into. Hoping to get my DNP in the future so I can perform at the top of my scope of practice. I hope you're able to do well in nursing school and enjoy your time there! (P.S. Don't forget to ask clinical instructors and nurse managers for recruiter emails. That's the quickest way to get a job!)
