Love your videos Nyssa. Ignore the occasional nasty comments you get. Living on a property off grid with a large family is a lot of work. I live on large acreage, there are never enough hours in the day to get things done. It's not like you miraculously turn on a tap and the water is there, there's animals to feed. Plants to look after. Your kids are beautiful and you're doing a great job.

Ah Dear Nyssa, I LOVED this video! I do love all of your videos, but this "Day In The LIfe" brought us closer to you as you took us with you from sun-rise to sun-set! It truly was wonnnderful and very very delightful! I think all of us feel this way! You work sooo hard and for all you do for us, we certainly are appreciative in so many ways! Those of us who live "on-grid" really don't fully realize the tremendous effort that goes into everything you do - whilst living "off-grid!" I truly marvel how much you know about soooo many many things! Your children are truly beautiful! Getting to see the boy's faces was sooo delightful! They all are truly beautiful! I loved to see your little boy cradling the chicken or perhaps it was a rooster! (City girls hardly know the difference! LOL!) Both the chicken and that sweet little boy was precious to behold! I love your videos. You’re so very very busy, always! I’m on small acreage and there’s never enough time (or energy!)in a day is there? I struggle with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis so each day also depends on my health and energy levels. You have inspired me to do my own version of homesteading and I’m loving the challenge. Some days it’s just making some sort of jam or puréing something and of course there’s my bread and my veggies garden and my chickens . It’s a whole new lease on life . And for that Nyssa, I say thank goodness I met you!

Given that I watch all your videos, like them but never comment...that says a lot. I think it was a very good move to highlight your day. It puts perspective into how long things take. And with a large family it's no easy task just putting food on the table 3 x a day, plus the extras. The outside jobs are also a very big task and I'm thinking without the other half it would be quite noticeable. You go girl but never ever forget your own self care❤ ❤

Sometimes its hard to get across the backwards and forwards of things, how much mental load there is on the running of things etc, I think this showed a bit of that lol. But it is my choice too, I could make things easier on myself I'm sure with more conveniences etc, but I think the work now is worth it in the longer run! Its hard not having a second adult around, even just for supervision, trying to be multiple places at the same time to make sure the jobs are done etc, because the kids are kids, and you can't trust that they remember everything hehe :D I go to bed pretty early lol, read in bed for a couple of hours and crash, sometimes even before the older kids have even gone to bed lol, that was one of the hardest parts of D not being home, having to stay awake until everyone else was in bed! lol

Life on the land in an off grid way. i giggled at the 'still don't know what i'm doing for dinner' - the mother's lament... quick inventory check and the most of something is the base of dinner. Great DITL, especially for people O/S, and for me, a reminisce of the daily hustle with a tribe of kids offgrid❤️

Hi! Just found your channel! I am already fascinated. Just could be mice who are sneaking in to nibble your precious seedlings. Or some kind of worm. Very upsetting! My husband and I have a small farm in Arkansas USA. We raise goats and chickens and have a fairly large vegetable garden. I totally understand working so hard to get things going and discover something horrible has messed things up. Will be looking forward to future updates and adventures. Hehe, I wish I could keep on top of the general 'stuff' everywhere, we try really hard to keep on top of the rubbish, anything that is food related etc, we take that to the bins every couple of days, but cardboard and just 'stuff' just seems to spread all over the place! :D

Oh I loved this video so much! I use paper towel as coffee filters, it’s way cheaper than the paper filters and works just as well if you ever need a backup to the backup 😉

No wonder you sound tired sometimes, you day is packed! What do you place your baking trays on in the BBQ, I presume it to keep them from direct heat?

Stainless steel colanders upside down, yes it helps to allow the heat to circulate without burning the bottom of everything :D

For the munching of seedlings. I used to work at a wholesale nursery they used to shake chilli powder when they noticed little animals munching on them. It may or may not work. It works 50/50 here

Last year I lost all my brassica seedlings etc and I couldn't think what. Turns out a snail and a slug family had squeezed in a gap or moved in while the door was unattended and started raising their families in my greenhouse. I am still finding the odd one. Look under pots or between stacked pots or trays(I found 50 between two stacked 5 litre pots once) etc and see if you are as unlucky. At least the chooks will be happy if it is them.

Nyssa, I just loved this day in the life video. Definitely not boring, & it's understandably not easy to record as well as do all your work - you are a very hard working person. Please do as many or as few suits you & your family, we subscribers enjoy them all. It was lovely seeing the two "tiger" kitties at the beginning - I have owned many cats over the years but I have a special fondness for tabbies. I love tabbies too, we got these sight unseen from two different places mind you and yet they look like they could be related lol :D This was Tell me Should I've known (instrumental) - Victor Lundberg :). I love having an epidemic sound sub, it costs me per month, but it means I have a huge library of music I can scroll through to use any time I want some music over a video!

I think a lot of us use two basic models of camera! The Canon M50 or mine is the Nikon D5600! Both very similar, I'd love to upgrade to a more compact Sony at some point lol. So many eggs lol, I used 36 for the fried rice, 12 more for okinomiyaki the next day, still drowning in them hehe :D
