Omg I’ve missed her! I remember stumbling across her video last year and thinking it was from her personal KZbin channel. Hopefully she makes one someday, she seems so fun and honest.

You’re a natural! I’m a native-New Yorker so I’m not surprised that you adapted so quickly to China...and you can easily relate to what it means to be “up close and personal” when riding in a subway!!! And yes, I’d love to hear more about teaching English in China to adults.

It's so true, lots of these expats describe life in Guangzhou with experiences that are so close to living in manhattan!

@@RoleyChiu Welp! I finally got my TESOL certification & teach English online to adults…4-5 days a week. I likely won’t teach in a classroom but I’ll likely continue teaching online even if I travel to Asian.😀😀😀

Thank you for sharing and being honest. I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years.I’m going to be quitting my job and starting a new journey as well. It’s good to listen to someone who is being honest about everything and not making everything seem like it perfect. I wish you the best.

Haha. Those kinds of bathrooms are really chinese but it’s convenient in the sense that you don’t need to clean the bathroom as often because when you shower it kind of cleans itself, if that makes sense 🤣 you just need to cover the toilet with the lid when you shower

I’m currently enrolled in school to get my bachelors in elementary education and then I plan on signing up to do tefl. I was looking at china at a possible work area. What’s some advice you could give me as I work towards my goals?
@IntTEFLAcademy2 жыл бұрын
Hi Niki, excited to hear you'e looking into teaching abroad! We highly recommend researching a lot in the beginning so you can best prepare yourself for teaching in China or a country that inspires you. Next, when you are looking to get TEFL certified, look for a school that will help you with the job search process, as this can save you a lot of time and energy while you prepare to live abroad. Feel free to check out of 7 steps for preparing to teach abroad here: www.internationalteflacademy.com/blog/7-step-plan-for-teaching-english-abroad

...then you said the racism was too much. I didn't encounter any in Shanghai. I had to explain to many Chinese people that black people come in all shades, speak any language, and are all over the globe. People mainly thought I Indian, Mexican, Brazilian, and Indonesian-other nationalities with a whole lot of black people plus their own African heritage. I had to school some of them on their own African ancestry. A friend did his DNA profile and learned something. Anyway, your video was delightful. Thank you for sharing.

Kids are baby goats. It is disrespectful to refer to the offspring of human beings as kids. Say children instead, it is the correct word. The majority of people are wrong to us the words kids instead of children.
