With KZbin banned in China, it's great to see content that shows typical life in China. Props to the triple threat of speaking in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Same 3 languages as me, although my Mandarin is pretty bad still.

@@hiilol Google left China in 2010 after it was unwilling to comply with one of China's internet security laws. KZbin went along with it since it's owned by Google. It's still easily accessible through VPNs however which are widely used by Chinese Internet users.

i heard from my relatives that most places accept cash, which i hope is true. i can't read chinese that well so hopefully i'll be able to get around okay if i visit some places alone 😅my cantonese level is about the same as yours, but my mandarin speaking skills are probably about half of yours (or less, lol) which 4/5 malls do you recommend? or affordable clothing brands? or food i should try? any other recs are welcome! :)

Mandarin is universal. Each region also has its own dialect. There is a saying in China called "Ten miles of different sounds, a hundred miles of different languages" There are tens of thousands of languages in China. Cantonese is just one of them. China from ancient times to the present. All have different official languages. But the local language has not changed.
