With the G7 along with the 30min warm up there is a 10 hour grace period where you can overlap so that you won’t have be without readings when switching to a new sensor

I love this series so much. I’ve been watching you all for years - Henry has grown into managing his T1D very well. When my Mom was his age - she was diagnosed with T1D at age 9-10 years old, back in about 1980 - Momma struggled a lot to learn how to and why to properly care for herself, as someone who was/is diabetic. She did not understand then, that lack of care could affect her later in life, and she grew up with an only parent, who also struggled to learn how to help her manage life with type 1 diabetes. Momma has two siblings, like Henry as well. Often, Mom and I have sat down together, through the years, to watch how you all handle T1D together, as a family - it’s a joy to see Henry taking on the responsibilities of T1D as he grows up. He is doing amazingly well. The positivity of your family has helped to, in some ways, heal the generational trauma of our family. Next time I go home to visit Momma, I’m hoping we will sit and watch a few of your T1D videos. Also, if Henry ever decides to become a parent - Most children of type 1 diabetics that I know (myself included), seem to struggle with balancing blood sugar, which often seems to start for most of us, around either birth, or puberty. I often become easily hypoglycemic myself (my low blood sugar starts at 60-70), my average blood usually stays between 80-90, depending on what and when I am eating. Thankfully, Momma is in her mid 50’s, myself, in mid 20’s - both of us without any major complications from life with Diabetes/hypoglycemia… I’ve cared for T1D patients in my nursing clinicals who unfortunately passed, because they couldn’t afford access to insulin…. I’ll never understand why that’s so expensive when it is so cheap to manufacture. You can tell a difference between the patients who take care of themselves and manage their diabetes, and those who do not… Thank you, for having the courage to share you all’s life with T1D

So happy to have found your channel! My daughter is 13, dx age 4. Just wondering about switching to G7? I understood that you can't close loop with omni pod and G7, has to be G6? Are you closed looping?

Yes, that's why we are still using G6. It's amazing. I finally sleep at night. It's the best.

I think I remember you’ve said in past videos that Henry does not feel low blood sugars. Does this make the 2 hour warmup more stressful?? I’d have some anxiety for sure.

Definitely. Last night was the worst because we went 11 hours without a dexcom so we didn't know his number. The dexcom stopped after I went to bed and he was sleeping and I didn't want to wake him up.

It’s never easy!! Teenagers or not, all type 1s go through turmoil with their b.s…. I give all those with CGMs and pumps so much credit. I could never handle that! Good luck in your play Henry!❤

Hi Amy and Henry. I began subscribing to you because of your T1 videos. Since then, you decided to incorporate other topics. I liked today’s video and thank you to Henry for sharing with his fellow T1’s. ✌️

I can remember how much my guy friends could eat when we were in high school- I can only imagine how tricky that would be with Type 1 and having to figure everything out when all you want to do is eat. Are your boys at the stage where they eat you all out of house and home?

The best part of the G 7 is you have the extra 12 hours and the fact that 30 minutes before it quits you can put the new one on without missing any readings of your bs.
