I'm dreading the newborn days but also so so excited to experience it all again! Those first few weeks, especially while breastfeeding, is so exhausting but it passes way too quickly. I plan to use the haakaa also, I've heard such amazing things about it! One thing I can't seem to clarify is how do you make sure you aren't only getting the foremilk in the haakaa? Do you use it from start to finish to empty one side completely and then baby nurses on the other? Or do you use it to just catch the let down and then baby finishes on the other side?

Your newborn was yawning and I noticed that he has a tongue tie like my son. My son used to nurse for so long because of his tongue tie, about half an hour.

Do you have any tips on how to produce more breast milk? Are you using an electric pump as well as the Hakka? I seen the spectra bottles is why I'm asking. Do you take any supplements to help boost your supply? I want to breastfeed so bad with this baby. I'm due March 12th. My first son had a lip and tongue tie and it didn't work out with him. I did pump for 3 weeks before my supply completely diminished. I was very uneducated about breastfeeding with my first son. And just thought it came naturally for everyone! I can say I'm going into it this time around, with more knowledge than with my first. I'd appreciate any tips or maybe a video if you plan on making one. ♥

Ok so I have a question lol.. when you only get 1 oz from the haaka when you nurse what do you do with that milk? Do you add it to the same bottle in the fridge until it reaches ho many oz you want. Kr do you freeze 1oz bags.. I never know what to do with it.

Bridgett Mccraw I wondered the same thing- once it has cooled in the fridge I will add it to a bottle I keep in the fridge that day. So all breast milk from the day goes into a spectra bottle and then I pour that into 2-3 ounce bags when it’s full and freeze the bags! From what my lactation nurse told me you can combine your day’s worth of breast milk as long as it’s brought to the same temp before combining. I hope that makes sense! I’ll be doing a couple breastfeeding and pumping routine videos once I get a solid routine down!

So when you breastfeed , do you only breastfeed on one side? And then pump the other side. I’m 15 weeks pregnant but plan on exclusively breastfeeding but I’m not exactly sure on all the tricks and tips

KimberlyAndFamily I only feed one side at a time, 15-20 minutes. The haakaa just catches what your breast pad would catch on the other side! When you breastfeed on one side the other side still leaks :)

flower16 it varies from babies I gave birth a month ago And my little one fed every 3-4 hrs as a newborn and occasionally had to wake him up because he’d go longer and plus can’t forget those cluster feedings where they’ll want to feed every hour.

Not going to lie it’s gets frustrating at the beginning because babies are learning to latch and well they’ll sore your nipples from not latching on properly. Is this baby your having your first?? Some tips is sleep as much possible and when he sleeps you sleep with him/she to catch up on resting. It’s a beautiful thing feeding your baby and having him close
