Wow, I'm really impressed by your work. I've been horse riding in France for 12 years, not owning one I was only riding the club horses, and I can tell you 95% of them would have freaked out with these exercises. It's so wrong that as riders we don't learn more about horse behavior and desensitization. People here tend to like sensitive horses because they think they are such good riders and so brave to ride reactive horses, but this mindset is so wrong. Horses would be happier if they would get such an education. Again thank you for sharing this, can't wait to watch the next video.

In a future video please explain how you decided on this horse during the selection process? Was there something about his demeanor that you knew he would be a fit for your training style; was it his conformation - or was it just his coloring? He's seems almost too calm for being 100% wild though. I'm wondering if he might have been owned on a reservation and later released.
@kidstuff445553 жыл бұрын
He does seem very quiet, but in part 1 of this day, he was sensitive to his head being touched and also didn't understand pressure from the lead at all. If he'd been owned by people before, he would've been better about those things
@jessicah34503 жыл бұрын
When he was with the other wild mustangs, they seemed to be pushing him around a bit. He does seem like he has a quiet personality maybe like us human introverts 🙃 That's just the feel I got from her video when she selected him. They each have a different personality. I rode a mustang in classes, he was very calm, but a bit stubborn (like if he found a weed he wanted to munch on, he would not budge, even with the instructor trying to work with him). My sister's paint horse was very spunky, but kind of in a silly way, very different from my horse. They are as individual as people.

i really like how you're just not going around the mustangs on your toes. When I saw that tarp come out and he's just like sure whatever, I thought to myself, oh so she's just a witch. GOT IT. Really though this is so incredible, I am so impressed. Calm horse with a good mind? Sure, but you are really underselling your skill here. I don't have much experience with mustangs and definitely none with wild horses, but I've worked with "difficult" horses and the tarp sometimes is a barrier they just can't get past.
